Jimmie Ann Hall
Chester, 80, of
Dawsonville, died Oct. 6,
2018.
Born April 21, 1938 to
the late Will and Isabel
Hall, she had been a resi
dent of Dawson County for
most of her life. A mem
ber of McKee’s Chapel
United Methodist Church,
she held various jobs
throughout her life, most
importantly raising her
family. She was a loving
and devoted wife, mother
and grandmother.
Her beloved husband,
James Chester, and broth
ers, W.J. Hall and Wendell
Hall, preceded her in death.
Survivors include her
daughters and son-in-law,
Peggy Christmas, Tricia
and Donnie Crump, all of
Dawsonville; grandson,
Brian and Jennifer Connell
of Covington; sister and
brother-in-law, Gladiola
and James Nickerson of
Dawsonville; great-grand
daughters, Kaylee and
Emily Connell; various
other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be
held at 3 p.m. Oct. 10 in
the Bearden Funeral Home
Chapel. Rev. Sven
Mossinger and Rev.
Ronnie Sosebee will offici
ate. Interment will follow
in Dawsonville City
Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends from 1 p.m. until
the service hour at the
funeral home.

James T. “Terry” Davis,
74, of Gainesville, former
ly of Big Canoe, died Oct.
6, 2018.
Born Dec. 20, 1943 in
Caliente, Nev. to the late
Feonard and Mary Sue
Davis, he had lived in this
area for the past 10 years
having moved from Hilton
Head, S.C.
Mr. Davis retired at age
50 as the Senior Vice
President of Time Warner
Cable. Terry was a dedicat
ed volunteer to Habitat for
Humanity and enjoyed
farming, travel, fishing,
nature and horses. He was
extremely devoted to his
family.
Survivors include his
wife of 46 years, Fana C.
“Deenie” Davis of
Gainesville; children,
Heather and Eric Coryer of
Gainesville, James Terrell
II and Emily Davis of
Northville, Mich.; grand
children, Michael Coryer,
Jack Davis, Nathan Coryer,
Eleanor Davis, Samuel
Davis, Camden Davis,
Dylan Davis; brother and
sister-in-law, Charles
“Chuck” and Clem Davis
of Amarillo, Texas; sister-
in-law and brother-in-law,
Joann and Bud Wydman of
Waverly, Va.; nephews;
various other relatives also
survive.
Funeral services will be
held at 11 a.m. Oct. 10 in
the Bearden Funeral Home
Chapel. Rev. R. Fen
Walker Jr. will officiate.
Interment will follow in the
Big Canoe Chapel
Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends beginning at 10:30
a.m. Wednesday.

reception following the ser
vice at Home Restaurant,

Marble Hill, Ga. 30148.

Ricki T. “Rick” Kamay,
60, of Dawsonville, died
Oct. 1, 2018.
Born July 30, 1958 in
Fudlow, Mass., he had
lived in Dawson County
for several years.
Mr. Kamay worked as a
computer programmer. He
loved music, Miami
Hurricane’s football, his
motorcycle, travel and he
loved to laugh.
His father, Henry
Kamay, preceded him in
death.
Survivors include his
daughter, Danielle
Alexander; wife, Sandra
Kamay; mother, Nancy
Kamay; brothers, Peter
Kamay, Randy Kamay;
stepchildren, Fevi Brown,
Fogan Brown; nieces,
Ariana Kamay, Alexa
Kamay; a nephew, Saxon
Kamay; various other rela
tives also survive.
Memorial services will
be held at 10:30 a.m. Oct.
13 in the Bearden Funeral
Home Chapel. Rev. Eric
Watson will officiate.
The family will receive
friends from 9:30 until
10:30 a.m. Oct. 13 at the
funeral home.

Mary Jo Styles
Mary Jo Styles, 83, of
Dawsonville, died Oct. 5,
2018.
Born Sept. 14, 1935 in
Forsyth County, she lived
in Dawson County since
1976 having moved from
Atlanta.
Mrs. Styles retired as a
loan officer with C & S
National Bank following
35 years of service. She
was a member of Wesley
Chapel United Methodist
Church.
Her sisters, Fibby
Hamby and Sue Gravitt,
preceded her in death.
Survivors include her
husband of over 60 years,
William A. “Bill” Styles of
Dawsonville; son and
daughter-in-law, Ken and
Ann Styles of
Fawrenceville; grandchil
dren, Michael Boyd,
Hannah Styles, Robert
Styles, Emily Styles; broth
er, Bobby Turner of
Cumming; various other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were
held at 1 p.m. Oct. 9 in the
Bearden Funeral Home
Chapel with Rev. Phil
DeMore and Rev. C. R.
Hill officiating. Interment
services will be held at
10:30 a.m. Oct. 10 at
Georgia National
Cemetery.
The family received

She was a loving mother,
daughter and sister and
loved to garden.

death.

Rev. Franklin C. “Frank”
Whitmire, 16, of
Dawsonville died Oct. 6,
2018.
Born May 4, 1942 in
Forsyth County to the late
Kermit and Ivy Whitmire,
he had lived in Dawson
County for the past 11
years having moved from
Marietta.
Rev. Whitmire was
ordained into the ministry
in 1980 and served as
Pastor of DeFoor Avenue
Baptist Church until 1997.
He served as Principal of
University Baptist Church
Christian School for two
years and has served as the
Associate Pastor of
Fighthouse Baptist Church
since 1999. He was also a
member of Fighthouse
Baptist Church and
enjoyed antique automo
biles.
Survivors include his
wife of 59 years, Paulette
Whitmire of Dawsonville;
sons and daughters-in-law,
Frank Jr. and Yvette
Whitmire of Dawsonville,
Jeff and Amanda Whitmire
of Woodstock; grandchil
dren, Annie and Andrew
Faird, Tim Whitmire,
Gracie Whitmire, Robin
Whitmire, Kenny
Whitmire and Tess
Whitmire; various other
relatives also survive.
Funeral services were
held at 3 p.m. Oct. 9 at
Fighthouse Baptist Church
with the remains placed in
state at 2 p.m. Rev.
Charles Blackstock offici
ated. Interment followed
in Sawnee View Gardens.

Minnie Fee Chumley
Wigington, 95, of
Dawsonville, died Oct. 2,
2018.
Born Dec. 25, 1922 to
the late John Henry and
Martha Chumley, she had
been a resident of
Dawsonville for most of
her life.
Minnie was a member
of Amicalola Baptist
Church and for many years
was known as “The Avon
Fady” in the area. She was
a well-known and very tal
ented seamstress who spe
cialized in alterations and
helped many local families.
A loving and devoted
mother and grandmother,
she left this life with spirit.
Her husband, Emmett
Wigington; granddaughter,
Valerie B. Burgess; and a
number of siblings, preced
ed her in death.
Survivors include her
daughter, Fois Fedbetter of
Jasper; sons and daughters-
in-law, Dewey Fee and
Barbara Wigington of
Jasper, Charles S. “Billy”
and Martha Wigington of
Marble Hill, John and
Barbara Wigington of
Dawsonville; brother, John
Carson Chumbley of
Stockbridge; sister, Edna
“Eddie” Goswick of
Dawsonville; grandchil
dren, Edwin and Earlene

Shirley A. Workman
Shirley A. Workman, 72,
of Dawsonville, died Oct.
4, 2018.
Born Aug. 13, 1946 in
Atlanta to the late Richard
and Jeanne Crain, she had
lived in Dawson County for
the past 20 years having
moved from Oklahoma
City.
Mrs. Workman retired as
a secretary for the Federal
Government following 30
years of service. She and
her husband enjoyed living
in Athens Boat Club.
Her husband, Billy J.
Workman, and a brother,
Jimmy Crain, preceded her
in death.
Survivors include her
sisters, Jane Mabry of
Dawsonville and Fisa
Crain of Marietta; various
other relatives also survive.
A memorial service will
be held at Athens Boat
Club at a later date.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARINGS
Notice is hereby given that three public hearings shall be held
by the Dawson County Board of Commissioners at the Dawson
County Government Center, 25 Justice Way, Assembly Room 2302,
Dawsonville, Georgia as follows:
• 6 p.m. Thursday, October 4,2018 - Public Comment on Proposed
FY 2019 Budget
• 4 p.m. Thursday, October 11,2018- Public Comment Hearing
required by Georgia law
• and 6 p.m. Thursday, October 18,2018 - Additional opportunity for
Public Comment.
The Proposed Budget will be presented by the Chairman of the
Board of Commissioners to the Board and the public at the Board’s
meeting of Thursday, September 27,2018. Once it has been
presented by the Chairman, the Proposed Budget will be available
for review by the public at the County Clerk’s office on the second
floor of the Government Center during normal business hours.
At the October 18,2018, meeting the Board will consider and may
adopt the FY 2019 Budget. The Public Comment Hearings on October
4 and October 18 are not required by law but are being held to give
citizens a greater opportunity to be heard prior to adoption of next
year’s budget.
