The National Alliance on Mental
Illness Forsyth Dawson Lumpkin
Chapter (NAMI FDL) holds sepa
rate support group meetings for
family members and another for
adults with mental illness from 6:45
p.m. to 8:15 p.m. each second and
fourth Thursday of the month at
the Forsyth County Senior Center.
The Dawsonville chapter of Sleep
in Heavenly Peace is currently
looking for volunteers to round out
their core team who will be trained
in the process of building beds
and leading one-time volunteers
at build events. Sleep in Heavenly
Peace is a nonprofit organization
that builds beds for children in the
community who do not have beds
of their own. Volunteers will learn
how to build bunk beds and as
sist with delivery and assembly to
children in need. For more infor

CLUBS
The Georgia History Book Club
is refining its name to: Georgia
On My Mind. The club meets at
3:30 p.m. the third Wednesday of
each month at the Dawson County
Library. The club read books by
Georgia authors (fiction and non
fiction) and/or about Georgia his

The Photo Critique Group meets
at 6:30 p.m. every fourth Thursday
at the Bowen Center for the Arts.
The free group invites novices to
professionals to share ideas and up
to five photos for positive critique.

North Georgia Mounted Search
and Rescue is a non-profit, vol
unteer based, operational team
serving Dawsonville and the sur
rounding counties. It is a growing
unit that is continuously training to
provide search and rescue services.
The group meets monthly in-class
room or for field training exercises.
The group is looking for dedicated
people who enjoy learning and
improving community resources.
Members are mounted and non-
