Notice is hereby given in

Department of Transportation has
approved the Location and Design
of this project.
The date of location and design
approval is: December 6, 2022
The proposed project is located
at the intersection of SR 9 and CR
741/Bannister Road in Forsyth
County approximately 7 miles
south of Dawsonville, Georgia, and
approximately 10 miles north of
Cumming, Georgia. The proposed
project would replace the existing
signal with a three leg, single lane
roundabout configuration for a
project length of 0.3 miles. The
roundabout would consist of one
20-ft wide circulating lane, a 16.0-
ft wide truck apron, and a central
island that has a diameter of 67-ft.
The project is located entirely in
Land District 4.
The proposed roadway approaches
of SR 9 and CR 741/Bannister Road
consist of 12-ft travel lanes, 10-ft
shoulders and open ditch drainage
systems. Curb and gutter will be
included along the outside of the
roundabout and mountable curb
along the inside of the truck apron.
Sidewalks and crosswalks will
be provided for pedestrians. The
proposed roadway for Silversmith
Drive consists of 11-ft lanes with
curb and gutter on each side.
Staged construction will maintain
traffic during construction of the
roundabout. No off-site detour is
proposed during the construction
of this project. The estimated
construction duration is 18 months.
