Field Day in the Park - July 11,12-5:30 p.m. Atlanta
Field Day will take place in Historic Fourth Ward Park, and teams
of eight people can compete in adult versions of tug of war, relay races, obstacle
courses, and other games. The most points gained throughout the day will

Legends of Light and Shadow - July 15,11:30 a.m.-l:30 p.m. Sponsored by Friends of
the East Atlanta Library, this shadow puppet performance and workshop will explore the
journeys of literary heroes and heroines. Featuring stories from Greece, Russia, England
Africa, and Native America, this workshop is suitable for kids aged 5-12. Free with valid

Brave New Voices - July 15 through 18, hours vary. Presented by Youth Speaks, an
organization that seeks to empower young people through writing and reading their
works, the Brave New Voices International Youth Poetry Slam provides an opportunity for
hundreds of young poets, their mentors, and the organizations that sponsor them to come
together for a series of approximately 20 workshops and 50 events. Most events are free

Writers Exchange - July 16, 7 p.m. Eyedrum presents an evening of encouragement and
networking for writers of all experience levels. Participants will read their works aloud for 10
minutes and receive feedback, suggestions, and constructive criticism in 5 minute sessions.

Girls in DIY - July 18, 12-9 p.m. The Atlanta Zine
Fest presents a day of screenings, readings, workshops,
podcasts, panels, and discussions on the topic of girls
in DIY media and within the context of zines. Vendors,
artists, and DJs will transform three of Eyedrum’s
Buildings located at 88 Forsyth St, the Mammal Gallery
at 91 Broad St, and the Broad Street Visitors Center at
