Fraud,
Continued from Front
early stages of the investi
gation.”
Under the idea of
“paper plant” operations,
the FCSO tied this type of
crime to the theft of checks
from the mail system. The
stole checks are frequently
duplicated and marketed
through social media appli
cations and utlitizing “mo
bile deposit” into “ghost
accounts,” according to
representatives from the
FCSO.
This scheme is not only
in Georgia, according to
FCSO. The investigation
was conducted jointly be
tween FCSO and the East
Baton Rouge Sheriff s Of
fice, and the fraud spanned
throughout the State of
Georgia and in surround
ing states.
Currently, Daniels and
Cooper are both being held
in the Fayette County Jail
and were charged with
identity fraud, exploitation
of elder persons, and for
gery in the second degree.
The two are also charged
with manufacturing ficti
tious documents.
As of June 27, the in
vestigation is still on-going
and additional charges are
pending.
Additional recent ar
rests and charges reported
by FCSO include:
Jennifer N. Day — drug
possession/sale/manufac
ture.
John C. Haines —
theft/payments for im
provement.
Theresa M. Montgom
ery — theft by shoplifting.
Colt L. Mosley — felony
probation/parole violation.
Dae’jon M. Blackmon —
two counts of burglary.
John F. Brannon — fel
ony probation/parole vio
lation.
Emma L. Felton — false
statement and writings.
Desmund L. Thomas —
two counts of drug posses
sion/sale/manufacture;
misdemeanors of license
plate requirements, pos
session of marijuana less
than one ounce, open con
tainer, and driving with
suspended driver’s license.
Daylon K. White — es
cape; theft by receiving
stolen property; possession
of weapon by convicted
felon; misdemeanors theft
by taking, obstruction of
officer, open container, and
taillight violation.
Darryl M. Beane — fel
ony probation/parole vio
lation.
Robert C. Kyser — sen
tenced on previous offense.
Kyle J. Lindsey — en
tering auto; misdemeanor
probation/parole violation.
Phonesavanh Mouna-
rath — financial trans
action card fraud.
Curtis J. Phillip — fel
ony probation/parole vio
lation.
Library,
Continued from Front
Johnson’s side as she
looked for funding and
volunteers. That is, until
Adam Campbell of Boy
Scout Troop 201 heard
about Tuggle’s search for
volunteers from his
mother.
Campbell immediately
took interest and realized
he could use this oppor
tunity to earn his Eagle
Scout badge. He spent
eight months in total con
ducting research, raising
funds by selling muffins,
designing the model, and
building the final struc
ture.
Along with members
of his troop, Campbell
also received assistance
and support, along with
supplies from Brenda Lu-
decke at Wooden Joy
Shop in Fayetteville.
Although constructed
by Campbell, the Library
is registered to Ludecke,
who will serve as care
taker of the library. The
beginning inventory was
donated by Fayette
County Library.
“This is dedicated to
the citizens of Fay
etteville,” Campbell an
nounced as he placed the
first book on the shelf.
The Little Free Library
unveiling ceremony was
held on Tuesday, June
27, on the courthouse
square facing South
Glynn Street in Fay
etteville. Residents can
visit the Little Free Li
brary at any time to ex
change their gently used
books, or even contribute
to its inventory.
Tyrone,
Continued from Front
building, and this must be
“remediated” before the
facility can reopen.
Perkins emphasized
that, while the USPS itself
had not been communi
cative with the Town of Ty
rone since the fire, there is
no reason to doubt that the
location will reopen.
“We understand that
this is an inconvenience
and that it is frustrating.
The town is in regular
communication with Con
gressman Ferguson’s of
fice to express our desire
to have the Tyrone loca
tion reopened in as timely
a manner as possible,”
Perkins said. “We will con
tinue to share updates on
this issue as they become
available.”
