The City of Peachtree City is cur
rently accepting applications to
serve as a volunteer on the Plan
ning Commission. The Plan
ning Commission is a volunteer
board that reviews conceptual site
plans, landscape plans, and some
non-residential building elevations
for development in Peachtree City.
The Commission also provides in
put to the Mayor and City Council
on zoning requests, annexation re
quests, and assists with the regular
update of the City’s Comprehensive
Plan and Land Use Plan.
The Planning Commission is com
prised of five members appointed to
three-year terms. Meetings are on
the second Monday of each month
at 6:30 p.m. Members are required
to attend a minimum of eighty per
cent (80%) of all meetings. Appoin
tees will also be required to attend
various Planning Commission
training classes and meetings paid
for by the City as part of their ser
vice on the Commission.
Applicants must be a legal resident
of the State of Georgia, have been
a resident of Peachtree City for at
least six months prior to the date an
application is submitted, and be el
igible to vote in Peachtree City Mu
nicipal elections. Elected officials
of any governmental jurisdiction in
the County and City employees are
not eligible for appointment.
The City will be accepting appli
cations and resumes for this posi
tion. Applications can be found at

Hall. All applications must be re

shall be scheduled at a later date. If
no objection is filed, the Petition may
be granted without a hearing.
