Library Hosts Performer’s Showcase
Fayette County Library
hosted librarians from the
State of Georgia for a per
former's showcase on Nov.
16 in Fayetteville.
"The idea of the per
former's showcase is for
performers to introduce
their craft to the librarians
and library staff for us to
provide quality programs
to our citizens, not just
children, but for our teens,
adults, and even senior
adults," Michelle Bennett-
Copeland, Fayette County
Library director said.
"The performer's show
case is very important be
cause it shows that we not
only learn about books,
but through entertain
ment, a collaboration be
tween recreation and
learning is born."
Kimberly Oliver, a li
brarian from the Clayton
County Library System,
said she was looking for
various performers.
"I’m trying to see if
there are performers who
are offering something a
little different than we've
seen in the past. In the
past, we saw a lot of magic
shows. I'm trying to see if
there is something other
than that," she said.
The showcase featured
more than two dozen per
formers with a variety of
specialties. Attendees en
joyed a display of music,
dance, live animals, cur
sive writing, and juggling
acts.
Windy Ward, Franklin
Memorial Library man
ager, said this was her first
time at the event, which
was attended by more than
60 people.

Project Love Provides Holiday
Meals to Homebound Seniors
Fayette Senior Services
(FSS) announces the start of
the annual Meals on Wheels
(MOW) Project Love cam
paign and organizers are
challenging citizens and
businesses of the com
munity to make a difference
this holiday season by do
nating to the cause.
Each year, FSS, a
501(c)(3) non-profit organi
zation, takes the initiative to
raise awareness and funds to
help combat hunger and iso
lation for seniors in need.
Project Love seeks to en
hance and expand the con
nections of seniors to the
community by providing a
daily meal delivery and
check-in visit while continu
ing those connections
through holiday and week
end meals.
This fundraiser is critical
in providing holiday and
weekend meals throughout
the year to homebound sen
iors in the community that
are not covered by the gen
eral funding FSS receives
annually for the MOW pro
gram, according to officials.
One meal can be pro
vided to feed a senior with a
donation as small as $5.
There is no limit to the
number of meals that can be
purchased, and general do
nations are welcomed.
“For every five dollars we
all fall short of our goal of
$40,000 (8,000 meals), one
less holiday meal will be de
livered to a senior in need,”
commented organizers.
M&R Print kickstarted
the campaign with a dona
tion toward the 2023 Project
Love initiative.
Donation forms and ad
ditional information can be
