PAUL, Minn., (NC) — Election of a Catholic as Presi dent or Vice President of the United States “would be a seri ous threat to the historic liberty and freedoms” now afforded by the Constitution, the Minnesota Baptist convention asserted in a resolution. The conservative Baptist group, representing 101 church es in Minnesota, held its 100th annual meeting in suburban Medicine Lake. “We believe,” the resolution stated, “that a Roman Catholic, by both the policy and declara tion of his own church, cannot exercise the governmental re sponsibility of President of the United States as outlined by our Constitution, without and apart from the teaching and program of the Roman Catholic Church which are not in accord with and are contrary to our Consti tution and freedoms.” WARD-WILLIS O- O ATLANTA — Helen Hill Wil lis, daughter of Mrs. Charles Vernon Ayers of Cartersville and George Francis Willis Sr., of Atlanta and William Thomas Ward Jr. of Columbia, S.
