McCarthy SAVANNAH—Requiem Mass was offered for Mrs. Frank Mc Carthy July 4th at the Church of the Most Blessed Sacrament. Mrs. McCarthy the former Miss Mary Roe Nugent was the widow of the late Frank Mc Carthy and was the oldest liv ing alumnae of St. Vincent’s Academy at the time of her death. She is survived by Mrs. James J. Brennan, Savannah, with whom she lived; two sons, Laurence A. McCarthy of Titus ville, Fla., and Thomas N. Mc Carthy of Savannah; a brother Peter Roe Nugent, Savannah and a sister Miss Helen Roe Nu gent of Charleston, E. C. Also surviving are eight grandchil dren and several nieces and nephews. Burial was in Catholic Ceme tery. Atlanta Services Mrs. James Farrell ATLANTA—Funeral services for Mrs. James E. Farrell were held June 18th at the Sacred Heart Church, Rev. Thomas J. Roshetko officiating. Survivors are Mrs. Herbert Hoefer, Columbia, S. C.; Mrs. Harold Weidenhorn, Union, N. J.; Mrs. Duncan Peeples, nieces and nephews. Survivors are his wife former Ruth Wilson of Atlanta; daugh ters, Miss Maurya Loraine Gra ham, Atlanta; Mrs. Austus L. Mosley, Jr., Crawford; Mrs. A. Harold Cox, Atlanta; sons, John Thomas Graham, Jr., James Wilson Graham, both of Atlanta and a sister, Miss Maurya M. Graham, Miami, Florida. Ba inbridge Services Earl S. Wedsrbrook BAINSBRIDGE — Funeral services for Earl S. Wederbrook were held June 14th at St. Jos eph’s Church, Bainsbridge. The Requiem High Mass was offered by Rev. Paul Feichter, O.F.M., Mrs. Edith Kaup played and sang the Mass. Burial was in St. Louis, Missouri. Mr. Wederbrook was killed in the crash of a private plane, near Sylvester, Ga., on June 11th, together with a close friend of his, while they were on their way back from a busi ness trip. Survivors are his wife, Pa tricia O’Brien Wederbrook, and six children; Sandra, Cheri, Linda, Earl, Eric and Curt, also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jos eph Joyce of St. Louis, Mo., and a sister, Mrs. Jo Ann West, of Peru, Ind. TO ORDAIN 90 MUNICH, Germany, (NCI- Ninety deacons from nine reli gious communities will be or dained priests during Munich’s forthcoming International Euch aristic Congress. Bishops from the Philippines, Formosa, India, Africa, Argen tina, Brazil and elsewhere will officiate the ordinations, which will take place August 4 in 11 parish churches. Following the ordinations, high officials of the Church will wait on table at “agapes,” or charity-feasts, in the tradition of the early Church. Eight thousand priests will celebrate Mass daily during the congress, which meets July $1 to August 8. WASHINGTON, (NC) —The Catholic War Veterans of Amer ica were honored here by the Boy Scouts of America for their contribution to the scouting movement throughout the past 25 years. Robert T. O’Leary, national commander of the Catholic War Veterans, accepted a plaque from Walter Ryan, Jr., Wash ington representative of the Boy Scouts at (June 25) luncheon at the Mayflower Hotel. It is a mistake for the “wood man to spare” some family trees.
