ROBERT R. OTIS
DIES IN FLORIDA
ATLANTA — Word has
been received of the death in
Florida of Robert R. Otis. Mr.
Otis, prior to his retirement,
was one of the city’s most pro
minent citizens.
Mr. Otis’ hobby was history.
His research and writings have
helped illuminate particularly
the pre-Oglethorpe period
when a Spanish mission civi
lization flourished along the
Georgia coast.
Mr. Otis was one of the or
ganizers of the Catholic Lay
men’s Association and a char
ter member of Atlanta Council
No. 660 Knights of Columbus.

Hundreds of Congolese chil
dren are dying daily because
of lack of food and medical
treatment, two charities agen
cies here said in appealing for
aid for the children.
The appeal was made to the
Austrian people by Caritas,
Austria’s Catholic welfare or
ganization, and by the S.C.S.
