Atlanta’s newest name for
THE FINEST OF STEAKS
Is a Polynesian restaurant a strange place to find the
best steak you ever tasted? Not in Atlanta, because
Atlanta’s only authentic Polynesian Restaurant — the
Dobbs House Tiki — takes great pride in serving the
very finest, soft-as-butter sirloins and filets mignons.
Call TR 3-3531 for reservations. Then, when you ar
rive at the Tiki, murmur those magic words “rare,”
“medium,” or “well done.” The chef will add that
something extra to your steak almost before you can
finish your delicious Polynesian beverages.

Harold L. Cooper took over the
work of getting the retreat
movement in Georgia underway.
Father Jarreau was succeed
ed by Rev. John L. Hein, S.J.,
and with the enthusiastic en
couragement of Bishop Hyland
and Bishop McDonough and the
work of many laymen and lay-
women, Ignatius House has
made a wonderful beginning in
Georgia. During the first year,
546 made retreats at the Re
treat House.
With more than 500 having
already availed themselves of
the Retreat facilities this year,
it now appears that Ignatius
House will pass the 1,000
mark during its second year
of operation.

Father Hein greets Retreatant (Van Buren Colley P.S.A.)
Atlanta’s Ignatius House is
something in which all Georgia
Catholics may take pride. Geor
gia has the first Jesuit
Retreat House in the United
States not connected with a
University having retreats al
ternately for men and women.
So far during 1962 more than
500 have made retreats at the
Atlanta Retreat House, spending
a few days over a weekend
away from worldly distractions
and devoted to prayer and con
templation.
Rev. John L. Hein, S.J.,
Director, explains, “The pur
pose of a retreat is to enable
persons to re-evaluate their
goals to reorder them in con
formity with the will of God,
and by so doing to bring peace
into their lives.’’
The doors of the Retreat
House are open to everybody
to MEN AND WOMEN, to
Catholics, Protestants and Jews
alike to all who are seeking
in any way to better their re
lationship with God.
Ignatius House accomodates
50 retreatants at a time, all
in private rooms with pri
vate baths, and for added con
venience and comfort has year
round weather conditioning.
A Schedule of Retreats with
a list of area leaders is print
ed in each issue of THE BUL
LETIN. Retreats open on
Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and close
on Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
There is no set charge, Ig
natius House being supported
solely by contributions. These
are made in a blank envelope.
The Retreat House is a re
ality today because of the gene
rosity of Mrs. Suzanne Spalding
Schroder and the untiring effort
of Father M.V. Jarreau, S.J.
In 1957 Mrs. Schroder gave
the property and her residence,
which is located on the pro
perty, to the New Orleans Pro
vince of the Society of Jesus.
Father Jarreau was given the
task of establishing Ignatius
House.
Just before dedication in
1960, Father Jarreau became
ill and his assistant Father

What Can A Retreat
Do For You?
1 Help you awaken to the reality of God and His rightful
place in your life.
2 Help you develop a sane, workable, and adequate phi
losophy of life, adjusting to reality.
3 Help you make a spiritual and moral inventory, evaluat
ing your shortcomings and your virtues to handle them
better.
4 Help break the tyranny of sin in your life.
5 Help you straignten out mental confusion.
6 Give you new hope and encouragement.
7 Give you the opportunity to discuss pressing and in
timate problems most confidentially with trained spirit
ual advisor.
8 Your family or fellow workers will welcome you back
with enthusiasm, because you will be a much easier
person to live with.
9 Give your SPIRITUAL STRENGTH, PEACE OF MIND
and PHYSICAL REST.
10 In short a retreat can and will make you a better
person.
