No. 11 SACRED HEART CHURCH, AUGUSTA, GA, All great results along religious lines, have had, under God, their small beginnings. The Sacred Heart Church in Augusta had its humble origin. There re mains on the ground near the present edifice the old Church building, in the shape of a college hall, to remind us of former days. But e:en before the old Church was built the regular Catholic services were held in a smaller structure, made of wood on the site of the present Rectory.
