GENEVIEVE’S (Special to The Bulletin) ASHEVILLE, N. C.—The Religious cf Christian Education, who conduct the College and Academy of St Gen- evieve-of-the-Pines, here, celebrated on November 21 the 116th anniversary of the founding of their Religious Congregation. The Rev. Louis Marin Lafosse, a parish priest of Echauffour France, whose cause for beatification is being introduced at Rome, was the founder of this congregation, which now numbers houses in France, Eng land, and the United States. A splendid attraction of the day’s celebration was the delightful presen tation of a concert in the evening by the members of the Schubert Music Club, of “St. Genevieve’s”. The par ticipants in the program included the Misses Anna Richardson, Stella Rich- bourg, C. Harris, Isabelle Robb, Vicks burg, Miss.; Virginia Ross, Mountain Lakes, N. DRAMATIC CLUB PRESENTS PLAY “Quality Street,” by Sir James Mat thew Barrie, was presented by the Dramatic Club of the College of St. Genevieve-of-the-Pines November the 28th. Smithsville, Ga. ASHEVILLE, N. C. — The Novem ber meeting of the ‘‘Jeanne d’Arc Club” was held in the College Build ing of St. Genevieve-of-the-Pines, with Reverend Mother Lorin as hon or guest. Miss Barbara Schumaker, president of the club, made a talk on the constitution, and discussed activi ties for the winter. MISS PRITCHARD HEADS COLLEGE DRAMATIC CLUB The College Dramatic Club recently elected officers. Miss Helen Pritch ard, Asheville, N. C., was made pres ident, Miss Eula Lee Kirvin, Smith- ville, Ga., secretary, and Miss Flor- nece McNeely, Asheville, chosen trea surer. Plans for the year were dis cussed, and the club decided on the study of James M. Barrie, English playwright, and of Edna St. Vincent Millay, poet and playwright. RECEPTION OF CHILDREN OF MARY On the Feast of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin, the semi-annual reception of new mem bers to the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin was held at St. Genevieve-of- the-Pines, Asheville. The Sodal ity at "St Genevieve’s” has the priv ilege of being aggregated to the Head Sodality of the Blessed Virgin in Rome, which was founded in 1563, The Rev. Father Albert, O.S.B., chaplain at “St. Genevieve’s,” offici ated at the ceremony. Father Bouchey, of the Diocese of Raleigh, then delivered a beautiful sermon on the Blessed Virgin, after which there was High Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.
