Macon Boys Work to
Pay for Their Desks
St. Joseph’s Pupils Conduct
Rummage Sales There
(Special to Hie Bulletin)
MACON, Ga. — The girls and boys
of the sixth and seventh grades de
serve all the commendation their
priests, teachers, and parents can
give for the fine spirit they have
shown in their efforts to realize
money to pay for the individual
desks.
One often reads that the ladies of
certain parishes are holding “Bum-
mage Sales” for certain laudable
purposes, but very rarely does one
hear that boys of the grades do such
work. Here;in Macon, about twelve
boys of the sixth grade have of then-
own initiative carried on Rummage
Sales and in each instance have done
very good work. Not*simply the get
ting of money must be appreciated,
but the cooperative spirit, the man
liness and’resourcefulness. All these
qualities have' been shown in a mark
ed degree.
At one held recently, Mrs. A. A.
Benedetto was cj impressed with the
good work of the boys, that she took
a hand in assisting!them, for which
the boys are .truly, grateful, and from
her they* have * learned many little
hints that will assist them in their
future efforts.
The names of the youthful sales
men are Val, Sheridan, Christ Mc-
Murray,> George Kohdy, Tevil Volk,’
Joe McGoldrick, John Sheridan and
Frank Thomas.
