Gor don, widely known in Georgia civic and financial circles, has been nam ed assistant vice president of the Citizens Southern National Bank. Mr. Gordon, a native of New York and an alumnus of Fordham Uni versity and its law school, was for a number of years connected with the McGraw-Hill Publishing Company in New York, and then became gen eral manager in Atlanta for the W. R. C. Smith Publishing Company. Four years ago he became connected with the Citizens and Southern Na tional Bank as public relations di rector. He is a past grand knight of Atlanta Council, .Knights of Colum bus, and also served as grand knight in New York. ATLANTA WOMEN’S CLUB HAS MONTHLY MEETING Reading of Prize Essays of Pupils Program Feature ATLANTA, Ga.—A delightful af ternoon was spent by the Atlanta Catholic Club of Business and Pro fessional Women at the country home of Mrs. Robert Schnore at the outskirts of Atlanta at their recent meeting. Miss Mary Ambrose, win ner of the 1936 club essay prize, read her essay, “Why I Am Proud to Be a Catholic.” Miss Catherine Flynt, winner of the 1935 prize, also read her essay entitled: “Bishop John England.” Both papers were splen did and reflected great credit on the teaching of the nuns of the Sacred eHart school. For the next meeting the club as sembled at the Venetian Club for an afternoon of out-of-door sports and supper. Miss Mary Cronin and Miss Kathleen Bragassa were the commit tee in charge. These summer out-of- door meetings are much enjoyed by all the club members. FRED B. GANNON DIES— ATLANTA PLANT OFFICIAL (Special to The Bulletin) ATLANTA, Ga. — Fred B. Gan non, manager of the cafeteria of the Chevrolet Motor Co., died here late in July at the age of 42. Mr. Gannon was born in Toronto and had been a resident of Atlanta for the past two years. Surviving are his wife, his daughter. Miss Alice Gannon, three sisters and two brothers. The fun eral was held from the Church of the Immaculate Conception with a requiem Mass, the Rev. Charles J. Rethans officiating. Interment was in Fulton, Ky., Mr. Gannon’s former home. T. J.
