Entire Canadian Community
Is Received Into Church
(By N. C. W. C. News Service)
TORONTO.— The Catholic Regis
ter, Archdiocesan weekly newspaper,
reports a wonderful case of corporate
conversion to the Catholic Church at
Vancouver. The report in The Reg
ister, in part, follows:
“A community of Anglican nuns
has decided to enter the Catholic
Church in a body. The community
is called the Society of Love of Jesus
and it has had charge of an Angli
can school and a home for elderly
women. By its conversion the com
munity risks the loss of all its means
of support.
“The members have only recently
written to their members and friends
informing of their decision. The an
swers and repercussions must be
awaited.”
The community gallantly announc
ed that it will continue its school
and expressed hopes non-Catholic
parents would continue to send their
children. It is not unusual it was
pointed out, for non-Catholics to send
their children to Catholic convent
schools. No attempt, it was stated,
would be made unduly to influence
non-Catholic children toward the
Catholic Faith.
