Sullivan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Jerome F- Sullivan, of Savannah and
Milledgeville, was married to Harold
C. Allen, Jr., at an impress've cere
mony which took place at the Sacred
Heart Church, January 19. the Rev.
James E. King, pastor, officiating.
The bride is the second daughter
of her parents. Her maternal grand
parents were the late Jane Margaret
Flood and John Henry Haslam, of
Savannah and New York City. Mr.
Haslam was the founder of the Geor
gia Supply Company. She is the pa
ternal granddaughter of Jeremiah
Francis Sullivan, clerk of the City
Council of Savannah, and the late
Mary Elizabeth Davis Sullivan, of
Savannah. --
She was educated at Sacred Heart
School and St. Vincent's Academy, in
Savannah, later studying dancing in
New York and Chicago.
The bridegrom is the eldest son of
Mr- and Mrs. Hoarod Coffin Allen,
of Eastman. His paternal grandpar
ents were the late Florence Sawtelle
Allen, of Maine, and Edward Cof
fin Allen, of Massachusetts. His ma
ternal grandparents were the late Re
becca Holmes Hines and Dr. Thad-
deus Pembroke Hines, of Bullock
County.
Mr. Allen is news editor of the
Milledgeville Daily Times, and was
formerly engaged in the lumber
business with his father.
Following the ceremony a wedding
breakfast was served at the Baldwin
Hotel, after which the young couple
left for a trip to Tennessee, and
upon their return will reside in Mil
ledgeville.
COUNTZ - CYPRESS
CHARLESTON, S. C.— Of much
interest to a wide circle of friends
was the marriage of Miss Marie
Cypress, of Charleston, and Mr. L.
S. Countz, of Augusta, which was
performed at the Cathedral of St.
John the Baptist by the Rev. John
J. McCarthy, assistant pastor.
Miss Stella Cypress, sister of the
bride was maid of honor, and Mr.
Ernest Countz, of Augusta attended
his brother as best man.
Mrs. Countz is the daughter of
Mrs. M. A. Cypress and the late Mr.
T. J. Cypress, of Charleston. Mr-
Countz is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. K. Countz of Augusta.
The young couple will make their
home in Augusta.
BURKE-HARMON
SAVANNAH. Ga.—Miss Rosemary
Kathleen Burke, daughter of Mrs.
Thomas F. Burke, and John Joseph
Harmon were married at the Cathe
dral of St- John the Baptist Janu
ary 21. the ceremony being perform
ed in the presence of the Right Rev.
Monsignor T. James McNamara.
The bride was accompanied to the
altar by her brother, Thomas J.
Burke, and was attended by her
sister, Mrs. J. E. Manucy. Jr., as
matron of honor. T. David Fitzger
ald was Mr. Harmon’s best man.
Following the ceremony there was
a reception for the immediate
families at the home of Mrs- Harry
J. Veruki, a sister of the bride.

ATLANTA, Ga.—Mrs. J. Freeman,
of Douglasville, announces the mar
riage of her daughter. Mary Isabelle,
to Paul D. Karst of Atlanta, of Janu
ary 20. at the rectory of the Immacu

Mrs. Sidney L Rodman, have an
nounced the marriage of Mrs. Rod-
man's daughter, Miss Carolyn Naomi
Doran, ar.d Mr. Lamar L Bigelow,
of Moultrie. Ga., and Charleston. The
ceremony took place January 27 at
the rectory of of St. Patrick’s Church,
the Right Rev. Monsignor Joseph L.
O'Brien, officiating.
Mrs. Bigelow is the daughter of
Mrs. Rodman and the late Mr. Joseph
I. Doran. Mr. Bigelow is a son of
Mr. Thomas J. Bigelow, of Moultrie.
and the late Mrs. Bigelow.
Miss Mary Lucille Doran was her
sister’s only attendant, while Mr.
Thomas David Bigelow, brother of the
bridegroom, was best man.

SAVANNAH, Ga. — The Rev. Fath
er Boniface. O.S.B., officiated at the
marriage of Miss Edna Katherine
Findley to Mr. Joseph Anthony Bat
tle, which took place at the Sacred
Heart Church on February 5.
Mrs. C. Eugene Clark, sister of the
bride was the maid of honor, Miss
Sally Battle, sister of the groom, be
ing bridesmaid. Merrell Mock, uncle
of the groom, acted as best man, and
the ushers were Jack Sullivan and
William Moseley.

SUMMERVILLE, S. C. — Mr. and
Mrs. Anthony Conrad Miller, of the
Summerville highway, have made an
nouncement of the marriage of their
daughter, Miss Mary Kathryn Miller
and Mr. Eldridge Montgomery Camp
bell, of Charleston and Beaufort, on
January 31, the Rev. James A. Mc-
Elroy, pastor of St. John’s Church,
Summerville, officiating.
The ceremony was performed at the
home of the bride’s parents, and the
bride was attended by Miss Aline
Smith, maid of honor and Miss Wil
lie Mae Campbell, sister of the groom,
as bridesmaid. Mr. Donald Campbell
was his brother's best man, and Mr.
Gerald Ward acted as groomsman. A
reception followed the ceremony.
After a wedding trip to Indiana the
young couple will make their home
in Beaufort.

CHARLESTON. S. C. — Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas J. Sheridan announce
the mariage of their daughter, Miss
Anne Hynes Sheridan to Mr. Paul
Anthony O’Brien, at St. Patrick’s
Church, January 24.
Miss Margaret Cade was the bride’s
maid of honor and only attendant,
while Thomas J. Sheridan, Jr., brother
of the groom, acted as best man. The
ushers were Nathan Rosen and John
Kennerly.
Following the ceremony a Oreakfast
was served at the Francis Marion Ho
tel, where a reception was held later,
after which Mr. and Mrs. O’Brien left
by ’plane for Miami from which
point they will board another ’plane
for the flight to the West Indies.
Mrs. O'Brien was graduated from
Bishop England High School and up
to the time of her marriage was sec
retary to Mr. John I. Cosgrove,
Charleston attorney. Mr. O’Brien,
originally from Marietta, Pennsylva
nia, is connected with the Standard
Oil Company in Aruba, Dutch West
Indies.

CHARLESTON. S. C. — The mar
riage of Miss Johanna E. Heidtman.
daughter of Mrs. Johanna Heidtman,
to Mr. Daniel L Roberts, of Charles
ton, took place February 2 at the rec
tory of Sacred Heart Church,' with the
Rev. James J. Guinea, officiating.
Immediately after the ceremony Mr.
and Mrs. Roberts left for a motor trip
to Florida, and upon their return will
reside at 190 Spring Street.
The groom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. J. Roberts of Charleston.

WILMINGTON, N. C. — The mar
riage of Miss Cecilia Furlong to Ear
Eugene Gray was solemnized Janu
ary 20, at St. Mary’s Church.

SAVANNAH. Ga. Miss Martha
Kimker and Mr. Teddy Kiene were
united in marriage at an impressive
ceremony at the Cathedral of St. John
the Baptist, January 28, with the Rev.
Joseph W. Kavanaugh officiating.
The bride, the daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. John Kimker, was attended
by her sister, Mrs. Oscar M. Hansen,
as matron of honor, and by the
groom’s sister. Miss Gertrude Kiene,
as maid of honor.

Carty Williams, of Daytona Beach,
Florida, formerly of Augusta, was
married on January 28 to Mr. Benja
min Croft, formerly of Montreal, at
St. Paul’s Church, Daytona Beach, the
Rt. Rev. Monsignor William Mullaly,
officiating.

Mary Loretta Dunning and Mr. Leon
Joseph Seel, which took place at St.

Miss Hannah Bates was the maid of
honor and Mr. Frank McMahon was
the best man. Only members of the
immediate family and a few intimate
friends attended the ceremony.
Mr. Seel is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Frank Seel, of Charleston.

Kannon, of Wendell, announces the
marriage of their daughter, Rosa, to
Mr. George / David Silex, of Front
Royal, Virginia, at the Cathedral of
the Sacred Heart, on February 4, the
Rev. J. Lennox Federal, officiating.
The bride entered the cathedral with,
her brother, Ferris Kannon, and was
attended by her sister, Mrs. S. F.
Hagley, of Belmont, as matron of bon
er, and Miss Jeanette Kannon, as
maid of honor. Mr. William Dohare, of
Neon, Kentucky, a brother-in-law of
the groom, acted as best man.
Mr. Silex is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Frank Silex, of Acosta, Penn
sylvania, and is engaged in business
in Front Royal, where the young
couple will make their home upon
their return from a trip to Florida.
