Cites Atlanta Cathedral

ATLANTA, Ga. — “Pencil Points’,’
one of the foremost publications de
voted to architectural work in this
country, featured in its February is
sue the Cathedral of Christ the King,
bringing new selected honor to the
structure which in 1939 was selected
for a place in the Philadelphia Art
Alliance, and which also attained the
rare architectural achievement of be
ing presented in the Architectural
Record ,as having received the hight-
est number of votes of a committee of
prominent citizens of Atlanta to se
lect the best building in the city.
One of the outstanding features of
the Cathedral, which has attracted
attention, is that its architects, Hen
ry D. Dagit and Sons ,of Philadelphia,
achieved beauty by simplicity of de
sign.

daughter, Virginia, to Woodrow Ros-
son, of Louisville, Ky., and Augusta,
the ceremony being performed by
the Rev. James A. Greeley, S. J., of
the Sacred Heart Church. Attend

Carthy.
ARTHUR-DONNELLY
GREENVILLE, N. C.—The wedding
of Robert Bruce Arthur, of this city,
to Miss Marie Donnelly, of Bowling
Green, Ky., was solemnized February
11, at St. Joseph’s rectory. Bowling
Green, the Right Rev- Monsignor T. J.
Hayes officiating.
Miss Hermance Donnelly was her
sister’s maid of honor, and John R*
Hodges of Greenville was the best
man.
Mrs. Arthur is the daughter of Dr.
Arthur DeVries Donnelly and the
late Mrs. Hermance Garde Donnelly,
and is one of Bowling Green’s most
popular young women. Mr. Arthur is
the son of Mrs. Louise Arthur, -and
the late Mr. Arthur of Greenville, and
is a descendant of two old Virginia
families. He is conected with the
Person-Garrett Tobacco Company, in
Greenville, where the young couple
will make their home.

Gives Book Review Tea
AUGUSTA, Ga. — An interesting
and enjoyable affair was the Book
Review Tea given at the home of Mrs.
P. H. Rice, Sr., by the Council of
Catholic Women of St. Mary’s-on-
The-Hill parish.
Mrs. John T. Buckley reviewed
in vivid detail the novel “The Great
Tradition” by Frances Parkinson
Keyes, while Miss Pauline Martin, a
Vermont neighbor of Mrs. Keyes,
gave an interesting account of the au
thor’s life. Miss Anna Rice, presi
dent of the Augusta Deanery, N. C,
C. W„ introduced the speakers.

SAVANNAH, Ga. — Property on
which a school or church may be
erected in memory of the late Mr. and
Mrs. James Fleming is bequeathed
to the Church of the Sacred Heart in
this city under the will of Mrs. Flem
ing, which has been filed for probate
in the coUrt of ordinary of Chatham
County.
The property is on Bull Street, part
of the block being between Foswell
and Barrington streets, which is ap
proximately at Fifty-Fifth Street
Also bequeathed to the church of
property at the southeast corner of
Barnard and Thirty-First streets with
improvements thereon, consisting of
three small dwellings.
Cash bequests to the Little Sisters
of the Poor and to St. Joseph's In
firmary, for the ward for men and
women, were also included in Mrs.
Fleming’s will, of which Mr. John
G. Butler is the surviving executor.
COMMISSION IN NAVY
FOR YOUNG GEORGIAN
ATLANTA, Ga. — Paul F. Cos
grove, Jr., is one of a few young men
selected from the whole United States
to be commissioned directly as ensigns
in the United States Navy.
Mr. Cosgrove, who graduated last
June from the Business Administra
tion Department of the Georgia
School of Technology, was a mem
ber of the Naval R. O. T. C. unit at
Georgia Tech. He has reported for
duty at the Finance and Supply School
at the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
