meeting that Sunday night would be
set aside as party nigh. for the
members. There will be dining and
dancing and such indoor sports as
pool and ping pong. Informal discus
sion groups will also be in order.
Among other summer social activi
ties planned are the semi-formal
dance at Isle of Hope the last part
of July, an all-day boat ride and
oyster roast to Dafuskie Island in
August, and several truck rides, wie
ner roasts and watermelon cuttings
to take place at night.
The Association's bowling team
is leading an eight-team league at
Savannah Beach. Matches' are held
every Tuesday and Thursday nights.
In addition to boxing, softball and
basketball, boys and girls of the
club are enjoying bowling, golf and
swimming. The result of the well-
rounded summer program has been
most favorable in keeping interest
from relaxing during the warm
months.
Best indication of the increased in
terest is reported in the little comis-
sary near the clubs dance floor. Lar
ry McCarthy, chairman, has announc
ed that during the month of June
a $57 profit was shown whereas the
previous month only $15 were made.
Although the association spent ov
er one hundred dollars last month
to buy electric fans and other neces
sities needed for the upkeep of the
club house, the financial report in
dicates that all current* bills have
been paid, and the rent paid until
January. There is a balance on
hand of four hundred forty-seven
dollars.

CATHOLIC YOUTH
(Continued from Page 12)
can keep her young men and women
together in various Catholic societies
and can provide for them the educa
tional, recreational and athletic activi
ties which they desire, she has laid
the foundation stone lor looking after
their temporal and eternal welfare.
Here in the Diocese of Savannah-
Atlanta there has been established the
Catholic Youth Organization, and
during the past year much has been
accomplished in looking after the
young ones of the flock. We have
our activities for the youngsters in
school and for those who have finished
school. Our various school programs,
our Catholic Boy Scout Movement,
Our Lady's Sodalities, and our Clubs
for the grown boy and girl, all give
ample evidence of this.
Whilst much has been accomplished
during the past year in giving an
impetus to the Catholic Youth
Movement in the Diocese, there still
remains much more to be done- The
real fruits of our youth movement
will be gathered only when we all
put our shoulders to the wheel and
when each and every one from the
highest to the lowest gives his or
her full cooperation. Let us all work
together this coming year and see
whether or not we can make the
Catholic Youth Organization in Geor
gia one of the foremost in the coun
try.
INDIANA DISCIPLES OF CHRIST
at their one hundred and first con
vention rejected a demand for the re
call of Myron C. Taylor, President
Roosevelt's personal representative at
the Vatican. The resolution asking for
the recall was defeated by more than
a two-to-one vote.
RENOVATIONS MADE
AT MT. DE SALES

Academy in Macon
(Special to The Bulletin)
MACON, Ga. — To inaugurate its
sixtv-eighth scholastic year, Mount
dc Sales Academy has recently com
pleted extensive renovations of the
class rooms, chapel, anjj! auditorium.
The class rooms have been redec
orated and the latest and most mod
ern type of electrical lighting equip
ment has been installed. The Ref cr
eed Library and Reading Room is
well-appointed with the addition of
numerous books containing the lat
est reference material.
Simple and devotional in character,
the school chapel has been tastefully
redecorated in soft tones of rose and
blue.
Complete new stage equipment has
been installed in the auditorium,
which also has ben renovated and
improved. New' equipment includes
a velours front curtain and valance
in royal blue, bordered in gold, the
school colors, with tormentors of
brocaded velours in the same shades
of blue and gold. There is a new en
core curtain of jewel cloth, an artistic
ad curtain which wall open to dis
close a beige cyclorama of university
cloth. This latter will have built-in
painted insets for interiors, and a
painted w'oodland drop for outdoor
scenes. These features will be great
ly enjoyed by the students of Mount
de Sales, for Dramatics in the fav
orite extra-curricular activity.
The Fall term will open September
12, and a record enrollment is anti
cipated.
For many years the annual retreat
for the women of the Diocese of Sa-
vannah-Atlanta has been held at Mt.
de Sales, and it is expected that
quite a number will make the re
treat which will be held this year of
August 23-26.
Mt. de Sales has an active Alumnae
Association, of which Miss Martha
Huthnance is president, and ihe
graduates of the school have never
ceased to display exceptional inter
est in the affairs of their alma mater.
Mt. De Sales, Macon
Recently remodeled and redecorated, Mt. de Sales Academy, Macon,
founded in 1876, anticipates a record enrollment when the scholastic year
begins September 12. It is conducted by the Sisters of Mercy, who also
conduct St. Joseph’s Parochial School. Sister M. Veronica, R. S. M., is the
