FATHER LORD’S
LATEST BOOK
ST LOUIS, Mo.—In view of the
rehtively few books authored in Eng
lish about the Blessed Virgin, the
Rev. Daniel A. Lord, S. J.. famous
Cathode author, playwright, com
poser and editor has made his latest
book treat the Mother of God -and
el men from the viewpoint of the
tv.entieth century. It is entitled “Our
Lad in the Modern World’’ and con
siders, in great measure, those virtues
w hich are most needed by our times.
It would of course have been easy to
show the influence of Mary on the
ages, tut Father Lord choose to focus
upon the influence of Mary on the
man and woman of today, who are
puzzled by the triumph of the tyrants,
a litie embarrassed by the widespread
contempt for virtue, diffident about
practicing the love of God and men.
Young people will find their lives
easier to direct toward a defiinte
goal after reading this book- Reli
gious and priests will see Mary as
their perfect model and the ideal
they can hold up to those whom they
seek to influence. Men will see in
the book the influence of this divine
mother on their characters. Women
will be prouder of their title as
daughters of Mar*-.
