His nomi nation was based on his four year record. He was captain of the bas ketball team this season, was a member of the football squad, ranked high in scholastic standing and was popular with the students. Brickey, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brickey, of Winchendon, Mass., were mar ried with a Nuptial Mass at St. Joseph’s Church on June 6, the Rev. Robert T. Bryant, S. J., officiating. O O- DALY-SNIDER O -O Bishop McGuinness Ordains Dominicans (Special to The Bulletin) WASHINGTON, D. C.—A touch of old Spain prevailed in the chapel of the Dominican House of Studies here on May 21, as wives of Spanish diplomats, wearing mantillas, accompanied their hus bands to see two of their com patriots, the Rev. Pedro Diez Del Rio and the Rev. Efren Villacorta, ordained by the most Rev. Eugene J. McGuinness, D. D., Bishop of Raleigh. Both are members of the Do minican Province in the Philip pines, and were prevented from returning to Manila by the war with Japan. They had left Spain a month before the outbreak of the civil war in that country, and fled to the United States from Hong Kong just before the Japa nese attack. Other Dominicians ordained by Bishop McGuinness were the Rev. Leo Peter Craig, Hawthorne, N. Y.; the Rev. Joseph Anthony Bal lard, Springfield, 111.; the Rev. John Joseph Ryan, of New York, and the Rev. William Justin Dil lon, Derby, Conn. Bishop McGuinness was assist ed by the Rev. Adrian English, O. P., prior of the Dominican House of Studies; the Rev. Matthew Manley, O. P., master of students, and the Rev. John A. Brown, of Pinehurst, N. C. Attending clergy included the Very Rev. Terence S. McDermott, provincial of the Dominican Order in the East; the Very Rev. Jordon Dillon, presi dent of Providence College, and the Rev. Thomas F. Carey, O. P., assistant national director of the Holy Name Society. AUGUSTA, Ga. — Miss Lena Snider and Thomas J. Daly, both of Augusta, were married May 17 at the rectory of the Sacred Heart Church, the Reverend James A. Greeley, S. J., officiating. Mrs. Daly is the daughter of Mrs. Adele Womack, and Mr. Daly the son of Mrs. Augustus Daly and the late Michael W. Daly. After a wed ding trip, Mr. and Mrs. Daly will reside in Savannah. Mrs. Mrok is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. O. Ackles of North Augusta, S. C., and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Mrok of Ridgefield, N. J„ and is assigned to special duty at Camp Gordon.
