Vaughan, and William Henry Saul were married on July 3 at the Sacred Heart Church, the Rev. J. E. O'Donohoe, S. J. offoci- ating, with the Rev. Jas. A. Gree ley, S. J., assisting. Mr. Saul is the son- of the late William H. Saul and Mrs. Lily Vaughan Saul, and is a member of one of Augusta’s leading cotton firms. Mrs. Saul, a graduate of the Army School of Nursing at the Walter Reed Hospital in Wash ington, has served as an Army nurse at Fort McPherson, Ga., and in the Aleutian Islands. Mr. and Mrs. Saul will make their home in Moultrie where he is stationed at Fort Spence. | ROCK-CHESTNUT | o o MACON, Ga.— The marriage of Miss Jean Murray Chestnut, of Macon, and Lt. John J. Rock, of Pawtucket, R. I., was solemnized with a Nuptial Mass on July 4 at the 357th Infantry Chapel at Camp Barkley, Texas. Chaplain Edward Murray officiated, with Chaplain Henry Felderhoff, Chaplain Francis Sampson, Chaplain Ray mond Kerns, and Chaplain Ber nard Schumacher assisting in the sanctuary. . Mrs. Rock is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Charles Chestnut, of Macon, formerly of Jacksonville. Lieutenant Rock is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas J. Rock, of Pawtucket. Vincent Stokes, who has been serving as assistant pas tor of St. Lawrence Church, Ashe ville, N. C., has been transferred to Hamlet, N. C., where he will be assistant to the Rev. Howard Lane, pastor of St. James Church. Father Stokes, a native of Phila delphia, was ordained for the Dio cese of Raleigh in 1941.. Before coming to Asheville, some months ago be was engaged in post-ordi nation study at the Catholic Uni versity. Laymen*s Retreat Held at Belmont BELMONT, N. C.—The North Carolina Catholic Laymen’s Re treat Association held its annual Retreat for the western North Carolina section at Belmont Ab bey from July 17 to July 19, with the Rev. John F. Renehan, C. SS. R., of Newton Grove, as Retreat- master. At the business meeting held at the conclusion of the Retreat, the following officers of the Associ ation were elecied: John Eck, Gastonia, president; Geo. L. Gallagher: Concord: Robert Mill- Sister Teresa Dies at Sharon SHARON, Ga. — Sister Mary Teresa Kealy, of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, died at the Sacred Heart Convent here on July 20, funeral services being held in the convent chapel with the Rev. Henry A. Schonhardt, of Atlanta, and the Rev. John Crean, of Washington, officiating. Sister Teresa had spent the greater part of her fifty-seven years as a-Sister of Joseph, teach ing in the parochial schools of Atlanta, at St. Joseph’s Home in Washington, and at the Sacred Heart Seminary in Sharon. She was for many years a member of the faculty of the old Loretta Acr.demy for boys in Atlanta, and later taught at the Sacred Heart School there. She was a native of Taliaferro County, and is survived by a sis ter, Mrs. Katherine Grice, and a brother John Kealy, both of Sharon, and several nieces and nephews. er, Brown Miller, Robert A.
