AT MACON USO-NCCS

MACON, Ga.—Constitution Day,
the 158th anniversary of the adop
tion on September 17, 1787, of
the Constitution of the United
States, was observed at the USO
Club operated here by the National
Catholic Community Service, the
program being featured by an
address by the Very Rev, Msgr.
Joseph G. Cassidy, rector of the
Cathedral of Christ the King in
Atlanta. Monsignor Cassidy was
introduced to his audience by the
Very Harold A. Gaudin, S. J„
pastor of St. Joseph’s Church here.
Special guests were Chaplain L. W.
Madorc and Chaplain A. B. Dzie-
mian from Camp Wheeler.
At the conclusion of the pro
gram, which was sponsored by the
Fourth Degree Assembly of Ma
con Council, No. 925, Knights of
Columbus, of which John J. Mc
Creary is faithful navigator, in
cooperation with USO-NCCS, pins
and certificates in recognition of
services rendered were awarded
volunteer workers at . the club
by William J. O'Shaughnessy,
chairman of the local USO-NCCS
committee.
< On September 18, the regular
meeting luncheon for Army Wives
was held under the auspices of
the Women’s '’“ivision of USO-
NCCS with Mrs. Rebecca Graham,
Benlonia, Miss., Mrs. Anne Price,
Baltimore, Md., and Mrs. Cecelia
Walters, Buffalo, N. Y., as guest-
hostesses.
On September 20 a cabaret style
party, including a floor show was
sponsored by the Women’s Divi
sion for convalescents at the
Cochran Field Hospital, the com
mittee of Junior Hostesses in
charge including Misses Louise
Kite, Louise Jones and Lula Abra
ham.

quiz program was held on Sep
tember 21, with a long distance
telephone call as the prize for
