tice of law in Georgia, is W. S.
Brand, a member of St. Anthony’s
Parish in Atlanta, and one of the
outstanding Catholic laymen of
that city.
Mr. Brand, who has been active
in the work of the Catholic Lay
men’s Association of Georgia for
some years, has also been promi
nently identified with the activity
of Atlanta Council, Knights of
Columbus, the St. Vincent de Paul
Society and the Holv Name So
ciety. A veteran of World War I,
during which he served with the
Marine Corps, he is a member of
the American Legion, having
served as commander and finance
officer of West End Poist, No. 147,
in Atlanta.
Born in Cleveland, Ohio, Mr.
Brand attended the parochial
school and the high school of
St. Stephen’s Church there, and
graduated (his year from the At
lanta Law School. A resident of
Atlanta since 1929, he is now field
examiner for the legal department

plification of the first, second and
third degrees on September 15.

Naehr. Jr., is evidence of the en
livened interest in the K. of C.
among members of the Holy Fam
ily parish in Columbus who are
returning from service.

fast at a downtown restaurant.
Consideration is being given to a
plan to serve future berakfasts of
the club at St. Joseph’s Hall,
which was established last month
through the efforts of J. V. Sheri
dan and Robert J. Hinson, with the
cooperation of Father Harold A.
Gaudin, S. J., pastor of St. Joseph’s
Church.

dicese of San Antonio, Father Ray
mond P. Levell, S. J., formerly as
sistant pastor at the Sacred Heart
Church, Augusta, has been ap
pointed by the Most Rev. Robert
E. Lucey, D. D., S. T. D., Arch
bishop of San Antonio, as assistant
to the Very Rev. Joseph C. Ei, S.
M., Vicar General of Religious Or
ders of Women, for the Arch
diocese of San Antonio.
Father Levell, a native of Fall
River, Mass., is a graduate of Holy
Cross College, Worcester, Mass. He
entered the novitiate of the Society
of Jesus, at Grand Coteau, La., in
1922, and was ordained to the
priesthood at Weston College, in
Massachusetts, June 20, 1937. He
has served as a member of the
faculty of Loyola University of the
South, New Orleans, and has also
taught at Spring Hill College, Mix
bile, Ala.
