These Figures
The Federal Bureau of Labor
Statistics reported recently that the
cost of living in the United States
has increased 48 per cent since Aug
ust, 1989, the month before the war
in Europe began.
During the same period, the av
erage price paid for electricity by
homes this Company serves de
creased 24 per cent. Instead of go
ing up like other things, the price of
electric service went down.
•
The average rate now being paid
by our residential customers is the
lowest in our history. It is one-third
less than the average for the nation
as a whole.
