CELEBRATE GOLDEN WEDDING — Mr. and Mrs. John A.
Sheehan, members o£ the Sacred Heart parish in Augusta, Georgia,
celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of^heir marriage on August 9.
They are now enjoying a motor trip which wilt include a visit to
each of the forty-eight of the United States, Canada and Mexico.
Mrs. Sheehan, the former Miss Pearl Salley, and Mr. Sheehan,
were married on August 9. 1897, at the rectory of the old Sacred
Heart Church here, the late Father James Lonergan, S. J., offi*"

appointments at St. Vincent Acad
emy, the Cathedral School, and
the Blessed Sacrament School
have been announced by the Sis
ters of Mercy, and faculty ap
pointments at the Sacred Heart
School have been announced by
the Sisters of St. Joseph of Caron-
delet.
Sister jVlary Bernardine, R. S,
M., who has been principal of
St. Vincent Academy, a high
school, has been chosen Superior,
and will be succeeded as prin
cipal by-Sister Mary Angela. Oth
er members of the faculty at St.
Vincent’s will be Sister Mary Pa
tricia. Sister Mary Michael Jos
eph, Sister Mary Jeanne and Sis
ter Mary Felieitas, all of the Sis
ters of Mercy of the Union.
Teaching at the Cathedral
School this year will be Sister
Mary Marietta, Sister Mary An
nette, Sister Mary Daria, Sister
Mary Rosarii. Sister Mary Thoma-
sine. Sister Mary Gertrude, Sis
ter Mary Carmelita, Sister Mary
Rosalie, Sister Mary Agnes, with
Sister Mary Gilbert as principal.
All of the faculty members are
Sisters of Mercy.
At the Blessed Sacrament
School, also conducted by the
Sisters of Mercy ol' the Union,
Sister Mary Edward is I he prin
cipal, and the teaching staff will
include Sister Mary Regina Jos
eph, Sister Mary Consolata, Sis
ter Mary Stanislaus, Sister Mary
Aurelia, Sister Mary Amalia, Sis
ter Mary Cecilia, Sister Mary Fin-
barr and Sister Mary Sheila.
At the Sacred Heart School,
which is conducted by the Sisters
of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Sis
ter Mary Maurice, the principal,
will teach the eighth grade; 1 Sister
Ursula, the seventh grade. Sister
Annunciata, (he sixth grade; Sis
ter Mary Edward, the fifth grade;
Sister Marie de Lourdes, the
third grade: Sister Cecilia Joseph
the second grade, Sister Leonilla,
the first grade, and Sister Loretta
Joseph, the kindergarten.
A new healing system, with an
oil burning furnace, has been in
stalled at the Sacred Heart School
replacing the gas furnace former
ly used, and extensive improve
ments and additions have been
made at the Cathedral School.

members were initiated by Patrick
Walsh Counc'l, No. 677. Knights of

held on August 10 at the Boys'
Catholic High School.
