DIES IN COLUMBUS
COLUMBUS, Ga.—Funeral ser
vices for Frank Xavier Profuino,
treasurer of the P. T. Knight
Company, were held October 25 at
the Chinch of the Holy Family.
Mr. Profuino, a native of Co
lumbus, had been associated with
the Knight Company for more
than thirty years. He was a for
mer president of the Columbus
branch of the Catholic Laymen's
Association of Georgia.
He is survived by his wife. Mrs.
Loretto Regan Profumo; three
daughters. Mrs. J. R. Watson, An
niston, Ala., Mi'S. N. E. Boswell,
Allanta, and Miss Frances Pro
fumo. Atlanta; a son, Eugene M.
Profumo. Louisville. Ky., and a
sister, Miss Angela Profumo, Co
lumbus.

in Germany on April 2, 1945.
Private Righini is survived by
his mother, Mrs. Carlo Righini,
and a sister. Miss Vittoria Righini,
both of Atlanta.
MRS JAMES E. CRAFT
DIES IN CHARLESTON
CHARLESTON, S. C.-—Funeral
services for Mrs. Mary Agnes
Craft, widow of James Edward
Craft, who died November 16,
were held at St. Joseph’s Church.
Mrs. Craft was born in Charles
ton, the daughter of John Henry
Toye. She is survived by a daugh
ter, Mrs, J. F. Verones. nine grand
children and twelve great-grand
children.

MRS. JOHN II. BELLMAN
DIES IN ATLANTA
ATLANTA, Ga.—Funeral ser
vices for Mrs. Mary Theobald Bell
man, widow of the late John
Hutching Bellman, who died Octo
ber 26. were held at St. Agues
Church, Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. Bellman is survived by a
son, Rulsell Bellman, of Atlanta;
a niece and two grandchildren.

Henry T. Beranc
Dies in Savannah
SAVANNAH, Ga.‘—Funeral ser
vices for Henry T. Beranc, who
died November 17, were held at
the Blessed Sacrament Church.
Mr. Beranc was born in Savan
nah, December 26, 1682. For more
than forty years he was connected
witli Hie freight claims department
of the Central of Georgia Rail
way. During World War II he
served with the Coast Guard Re
serve here.
He is survived by his wife, two
daughters, Mrs. M. M. Ray. Jr.,
Birmingham and Mrs. W. J.
Manucy; a sister, Mrs. E. C. Har
mon, and four grandchildren.

FUNERAL IN SAVANNAH
SAVANNAH, Ga.—Funeral ser
vices for Mrs. Agnes Roach Meich,
wife of Frank Meich. who died In
Philadelphia. November 16, were
held at the Cathedral of St. John
the Baptist here.
Formerly of Savannah, but hav
ing lived in Philadelphia for more
than forty years, Mrs. Meich is
urvived by her husband; a broth
er, Martin Roach, St. Petersburg.
Fla.; two sisters. Mrs. Mary F.
Schurig, Savannah, and Mrs. Kate
Artie, Savannah, and several
nieces and nephews.

Miss Higgins wa.s born in Savan
nah. the daughter of the late St.
John Leger Higgins and Mrs.
Sabina Norton Higgins. A grad
uate nurse, she was an associate
member of St. Joseph’s Hospital
Alumnae Association.
She is survived by two sisters,
Mrs. Hue Thomas and Miss Mat
Higgins, Savannah: a brother,
Thomas Higgins, Boston, and sev-
•ral nieces and nephews.
EDWARD R. HARDEE
DIES IN SAVANNAH
SAVANNAH, Ga.—Funeral ser
vices fm - Edwin R. Hardee, who
died November 14, were held at
the Cathedral of St. John (he Bap
tist.
Born in North Carolina. Mr.
Hardee, a retired city employe,
had lived in Savannah most of
hit; life.
He is survived by his wife, the
former Miss Janie Deignan; three
daughter, Mrs. D. L. South, Mrs.
Hugh Buckner, and Mrs. Gordon
Milligan; two sons, E. R. Hardee,
Jr., and Fred Hardee; a brother.
William W. Hardee, eight grand
children and several nieces and
nephews.
Mr. Hardee was stricken ill
shortly after attending a family
reunion on (he occasion of his
golden wedding anniversary.

Mrs. Crisler, a native of Com
merce. ivhb had lived in Atlanta
for many years. She is survived
by two sisters, Mrs. Blanche R.
Thomas and Mrs. J. H. Jackson,
both of Atlanta; a nephew, J. H.
Packson, Jr., New Orleans, and a
niece, Mrs. W. A. Mock. Atlanta.
Greenville Choir on
Spartanburg Station’s
Broadcast of the Mass

SPARTANBURG. — The men’s
choir of St. Mary’s Church, Green
ville, was heard over Radio Sta
tion WSPA on the rporning of
Sunday, November 14, when the
Missa Cantata which opened a Day
of Recollection, sponsored by the
Holy Name Society of St. Paul
the Apostle Church was broad
casted.
The choir sang (he “Asperges,”
in plain chanlf t-he “Kytie”
“Gloria,” “Sanctus,” “Benedictus,”
and “Agnus Dei” from the Mass,
"Victor Rex,” by Carl Robinson,
and the “Credo” from the Mass
in honor of St. Anthony of Padua
by Wilkins.
“Cor Jesu,” by Schultes, was
used as an offertory, selection, arid
“Panis Angeliys” by Father Lam-
bilotte at the Communion. “Holy
God, We Praise, Thy Name” was
sung as a recessional hymn.
The choir, under the direction
of Bather Ronald P. Anderson,
assistant pastor of St. Mary’s
Chdrcli, was composed Of Edward
P. Flaspoehler, Walter Jureski,
Joseli A. Cafpin, Jr., Richard
A. Bindewuld, Philip K. Howard,
Carlton Sullivan, Sam Francis,
Henry Wells, Eugene G. Cohen, Jr.,

U. S. Envoy to Egypt
Praises Vatican Stand
' CAIRO—(NO—Stanton Griffis,
newly appointed U. S. Ambassador
to Egypt, told Mrs. Boulad, an
Arab Catholic journalist, in an
interview that lie had never seen
the , real reason why the United
Slates should not have an official
diplomatic representation at the
Vatican, $ince there v would be no
contradiction between this and the
American Constitution.
“The lack of an official repre
sentation does, however, in no way
restrain the respectful admiration
of piy Government for the Holy
See whose great prestige the
world over is so justly recognized.
The personal representative of the
President of the United States is
doing and has done magnificent
work at the Vatican,” the Ambas
sador added.
