Rector of Bishop England High School
MONSIGNOR MANNING
One of the pioneer students at Bishop England High
School in Charieston, and a graduate of one of its
earliest classes, the Right Reverend Monsignor John L. Manning,
D. D., Chancellor of the Diocese of Charleston, has served Bishop
England High School as a faculty member, as treasurer, as vice
rector, and for the last two years as rector. Like Monsignor
Joseph L. O'Brien, who was his predecessor as rector of Bishop
England High School, Monsignor Manning is distinguished for
his scholarship, executive ability and record of priestly service.
He is well qualified to carry on a work of Catholic education
to which he has already made substantial contributions of his
talent and energy—contributions which have helped to make
Bishop England High School a Catholic educational institution
of the highest order, and which assure it new heights of fame
in the future.
