Laymen's Association
Executive Committee
To Meet in Atlanta
ALBANY, Ga.—Fred Wiggins,
of Albany, president of the Cath
olic Laymen’s Association of Geor
gia, has called a special meeting of
the executive committee of the
Association for August 7, in Atlan
ta. The session, which will be at
tended by officers of the Associa
tion, members of its executive
board, and presidents of local
branches of the Association
throughout the state, will convene
at 2 p. m. at the Ansley Hotel.
Several matters of importance
will be brought up for discussion
at the session, one being the place
and date of the annual conven
tion.
It has developed that it will not
be possible to hold the 1949 con
vention of the Laymen’s Associa
tion in Atlanta, as scheduled, on
the last Sunday in October, so in
order to avoid a change from the
time which the by-laws set for the
annual convention, it is expected
that the invitation extended by
Francis T. Cassidy, president of
the Macon Branch, will be accept
ed, and the Laymen's Association
will hold its annual convention
this year in Macon, on Sunday,
October 30, the Feast of Christ
the King.
