Dies in New York

bert A. Faase. pastor of St. Mary’s
Church, Georgetown, S. C., offered
a Solemn Mass of Requiem at the
Church of the Epiphany, Manhat
tan, at funeral services for his
mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Teresa
Faase.
Father Joseph S. O’Connell, pas
tor of the Church of the Epiphany,
was assistant priest; Father Joseph
Devlin, deacon, and Father John
J. Wallace, subdeacon. Father De
vlin and Father Wallace were
classmates of Father Faase at St.
Joseph’s Seminary, Dunwoodie N.
Y.
Born at Lisnerie, County Down.
Ireland, April 21, 1873, Mrs.
Faase lived lor many years at
Cornwall-on-Hudson, where her
husband, the late Albert A. Faase,
died in 1915.
Survivors in addition to Father
Faase are four daughters, Sister
M. DiNeri, of the Sisters of Mercy,
St. Angela Academy, Aiken, S. C.,
Miss Rosemary Faase, Miss Anne
Faase, Miss Margaret Faase, and
another son, Frank J. Faase, mil-

has been elected grand knight of
Patrick Walsh Council, No. 677,
Knights of Columbus, to succeed

Procession Honoring
Our Lady of Fatima
Held in Brunswick
BRUNSWICK, Ga. - Some 250
t members of St. Francis Xavier
i parish participated in the fifteenth
I annual procession in honor of Our
Lady of Fatima.
A statue of Our Lady of Fatima,
which was made in Portugal, was
carried in procession on the
shoulders of members of the Con-
frarie of Our Lady of Fatima
j around the block on which St.
j Francis Xavier Church is located,
j while Sisters of St. Joseph, mem-
! bers of the Sodality of Our Lady,
j and other parishioners, singing
hymns, joined in the procession.
After the procession had entered
the church, High Mass was cele
brated by Father Waiter Kav-
anagh, C. SS. R., just returned
from Brazil. Father Kavanagh de
livered the sermon in Portuguese.
The Mass W'as sung by the adult
choir, under the direction of Mrs.
W. H. Parker, with Miss Doty
Mantia as soloist and Miss Law'-
anna Lindsay, organist.
In the evening, the Most Rev
erend Francis E .Hyland, D. D.,
J. C. D., Auxiliary Bishop of Sa-
vannah-Atlanta, administered the
Sacrament of Confirmation to a
class of seventy-seven, which in
cluded twelve adults. Assisting
Bishop Hyland during the admin
istration of Confirmation and at
Pontifical Benediction of the
Blessed Sacrament, w'hich follow'ed,
were Father John Mercer, S. M.,
pastor of St. Francis Xavier
Church; Father Leo Ziebarth, S.
M., assistant pastor; Father Joseph
Kane, S. M., assistant pastor,
Father John Hillmann, S. M., of
Waycross; Father Thomas Mc-
Grady, O. M. I., of Douglas; Father
Michael Regan, of Savannah, and
Father Kavanagh.
Earlier in the day, Bishop Hy-
land had administered Confirma
tion at the Immaculate Conception
Church, Ludowici, and on the fol
lowing night at the Church of Our
Lady Star of the Sea, at. St. Mary’s.

Funeral in Macon

for John E. Harrison, w'ho died
June 9, W'ere held at St. Joseph’s
I Church, Father Russell Dornier,
j S. J., officiating.
Mr. Harrison, a life-long, resi-
[ dent of Macon, w'as a retired gen-
] eral foreman of the boiler shop
] of the Central of Georgia Railway.
! He had been with the railroad for
| more than fifty years w'hen he re
tired about two years ago.
Born in Macon, January 8, 1876,
he w'as the son of Joseph Harrison
and Mrs. Ann Enright Harrison,
j He W'as a charter member of Ma
con Council, Knights of Columbus.
Mr. Harrison is survived by a
son, Timothy E. Harrison, Macon;
a sister, Mrs. H. G. Jennings, Roa
noke, Va.; three grandchildren.

Funeral in Aiken
AIKEN, S. C.—Funeral services
for Mrs. Marian Garvin Waddell,
w'ho deid May 27 at the Waiter
’Reed Hospital, Washington, D. C.,
were held at St. Mary Help of
Christians Church here w'ith Mon-
signor George Lew'is Smith offi
ciating.
Mrs. Waddell was born in Aiken,
but for a number of years made
her home in Macon, Ga. For the
past two years, she had lived
in Germany, where her husband,
Captain Robert G. Waddell, w'as
stationed.
Survivors in addition to her hus
band are a son, Gregory Waddell;
her mother, Mrs. Florence Mc
Lendon Garvin; her father, Louis
E. Garvin, of Columbia, S. C.;
three sisters, Mrs. Earl Sizemore,
Aiken, Mrs. Harvey Oehlert,
Chesterfield, S. C„ and Mrs. Ed-
ward Pringle, Merrittown, Pa„
and a brother, Louis E. Garvin, Jr.,
of Aiken.
STEWART KERR
DIES IN AUGUSTA
AUGUSTA, Ga.—Funeral services
for Stewart Kerr, who died May
20, from injuries suffered in an
automobile accident, were held at
the Sacred Heart Church, w'ith
Father James Buckley, S. J., offi
ciating.
Mr. Kerr is survived by his wife,
Mrs. Mae Keener Kerr; a son, Eu
gene M. Kerr; a daughter, Miss
Katherine Kerr, all of Augusta;
three sisters, Mrs. Louise Ellis,
New York, Mrs. Mary Dale, of
Ohio, and Mrs. Augusta Kerr,
Washington, D. C.
