Ga. — The Knights of Columbus sponsored a summer camp for the children of the Holy Family Parish June 6 through June 12 at Lake Juni per, Georgia. The boys and girls assembled at the Holy Family school on Monday morning and formed a motorcade for a 25 mile drive to beautiful Lake Ju niper. On arrival at camp, they set up their cabins and were then served a tasty lunch, in fact each meal was even better than the one before. Thanks to our able chef “Nelson”. The menu was well planned by our Brother Knight Antoine Comeaux. Ninety-seven boys and girls, ages 8 to 14 enjoyed a full week of swiming, hiking, marshmellow toasts and group activities. Camp fires, movies and folk dancing were enjoyed in the evenings. The children were under the supervision of counselors from the Council and the Ladies Aux iliary. The counselors who un selfishly devoted their time were Norman D. Allen, chief coun selor; James S. McGee, Francis Williams, George E. Brown, Capt. James C. Blackford, John Charles Dupree, Mesdames Norman D, Allen, James J. O’Shea, Philip J. Batastini, Paul Wright and James S. McGee. Spiritual guidance was under the direction of Father Herman J. Deimel who offered Mass for the campers on Sunday. Following lunch on Sunday, the boys and girls departed for their various homes tired but happy and already making plans for the next camp.
