ELECTRIC CO. 1471 REYNOLDS STREET AUGUSTA, GEORGIA Electrical Contractors • Trouble Shooting Atlanta Shrine Plans Bazaar Holy Name Sunday October 9th J. ALTON BAUMGARTNER In the fall of the year after crops have been harvested and the dew is on the pumpkins, it is customary to celebrate the oc casion with fairs, festivals and bazaars. The Shrine of the Im maculate Conception in keeping with the season for the second consecutive year will hold a ba zaar in the social hall on October 18th arid 19th from 3 p.m. to 1 p.m. each day. For months vari ous committees have been lay ing the ground work . for this gala occasion. A wonderful group of prizes has been assembled, including a 14.8 Deep Freeze fil led with food; 21” Television; 3 A Ton Air, Conditioner; $125.00 Photographic Painting and Frame; Clock Radio and many, many others. Tickets for the bazaar entitling you to a chance on all the prizes can be obtained from the members of the Shrine or directly from the rectory. Your attendance is desired at the bazaar, however, you do not have to be present to win one of the prizes. With the beginning of the fall season the Holy Name Society returned to its customary break fast and meeting, Sunday Sep tember 11th. A good crowd was present for the Holy Name Mass commemorating Father and Daughter Sunday. Practically all who had received communion with the society in a body at the 8:00 mass stayed for breakfast and meeting held in the social hall. The gathering was fortunate to have Father Joseph Beltran present at breakfast and are very grateful for his fine and infor mative talk. Father Beltran chose a most appropriate subject, ‘‘San ctification of the Home”. He out lined the duties and obligations imposed on the parents. He stressed the necessity of setting a good example in our daily or dinary life and the importance of teaching our children right from wrong. Father Beltran al so reminded us of the require ments for a happy marriage. As he explained, it takes three to make a successful marriage, man, woman and God. With God’s help, pure love and wil lingness to make sacrifices necessary, a happy marriage will exist, resulting in a happy home. It was a good talk and we are indebted to Father Beltran. As baseball ends, bowling be gins and once again the Bowling Team under the Holy Name ban ner will participate in the City Sunday School League. This team, the only Catholic one in the City of Atlanta has enjoyed wonderful success in the past years. Besides winning the Championsship a number of times, they have accomplished a great deal for our faith. Sunday, October 9th is the mentioned so many times in the past you are asked, requested and begged to be present with us at the 8:00 Mass on that Sunday.
