SAINT MICHAEL’S HOLY
NAME HOLDS MEETING
GAINESVILLE — The Holy
Name Society of St. Michael’s
Church recently held their Feb
ruary meeting. Among the mat
ters of business discussed was the
Sacred Heart Program which the
group has sponsored over local
radio station WGGA over the
past year.
Following the business meeting
Phil Dargie, one of the members
of the society, and Research and
Development Engineer at Pacolet
Mills, spoke to the group on the
part that research plays in the
typical textile manufacturing op
eration.
Father Michael J. Manning, pas
tor, addressed the Society by re
iterating the primary Spiritual
function of the Holy Name Soci
ety in glorifying God and as an
aid in the spiritual growth of the
members, the parish and the
community. He particularly urg
ed the members to continue to
participate at Holy Communion
as a group on Holy Name Sun
days.
Next, an inspiring film “You
Can Change the World” was
shown. The film dealt with the
Christopher Movement of Father
Keller which demonstrated the
important role for the individual
in maintaining our way of life
and in combating godless ide
ologies.
