Holds Meeting
AUGUSTA — Mrs. Norman I.
Boatwright, president of the Sav
annah Diocesan Council of Cath
olic Women, and Mr. Scott Nix
on, prominent Augustan, were
guest speakers at the October
meeting of the Aquinas Parent-
Teacher Organization. Mrs. Boat
wright spoke of the duty of par
ents to teach a child to safeguard
his own life, and also to make
young drivers conscious of their
moral obligation to protect the
lives of others. Mr. Nixon ex
plained the types of automobile
insurance, and the technicalities
of legal liability and compulsory
insurance laws now in effect in
different states.
Mrs. R. E. Leonard and Mrs.
E. J. McMahon, co-chairmen,
ways and means committee, an
nounced that the annual Christ
mas Bazaar would be held on
Friday, November 22, at St.
Mary’s Parish Hall. Chairmen of
the various booths are as follows:

Mrs. Joseph Sheehan, Mrs. J. W.

sale at the bazaar.
Mrs. A. T. Mulherin was ap
pointed Junior Red Cross Chair
man.
Father Ralph Seiked gave a
brief address on school spirit.
The ladies of the Aquinas P.-T.
O .will make the Altar linens for
the school chapel.
The grade count was won by
the senior class.
The meeting' was closed with
prayer by Father Daniel Bourke,
president of the school.
Thomas A. Brennan (above),
New York attorney and
prominent Catholic layman has
been appointed .as legal coun
sel for the Catholic Press As
sociation. A graduate of Holy
Cross College and Fordham
University law school, he has
been labor attorney for the
Hearst newspapers, magazines
