The Waktinsville, Ga. firm gave 2,000 pairs of pants and 350 shirts to the drive. Elizabeth and her mother, Mrs. George A. McManmon, shown with her, are members of St. Joseph’s Parish, Athens. Mrs. McManmon is president of the Athens Parish Council of Catholic Women. Mr. John Preller, owner of Rent-em Inc., is also a mem ber of St. Joseph’s Parish. His Eminence Samuel Cardinal Stritch, Archbishop of Chicago and society Chancellor, presided at the meeting which was attend ed by some 90 archbishops and bishops, and by clerical and lay leaders engaged in the society’s work. The Cardinal announced that His Holiness Pope Pius XII had appointed Archbishop O’Brien to his seventh five-year term as so ciety president. Other officers . of the society who were reelected include: Msgr. Joseph B. Lux, vice presi dent and director of Extension magazine; Msgr. Thomas J. Reed, vice president and general secre tary;. Msgr. Kenneth G. Stack, vice president and circulation di rector; Msgr. William J. McNich- ols, secretary to the president; Charles C. Kerwin, vice presi dent and treasurer, and James F. Burns, vice president and coun sel. Elected to Extension maga zine's board of governors were: Msgr. William E. North, Father Peter P. Witmanski, James Cos- ton and Paul J. Pater.
