Permission was given by a neighbor living cjose- by to run the wires connecting the spotlight and colored bulbs from his garage. Another neigh bor supplied a phonograph with a collection of Ion g-playing Christmas carols. The sending of religious Christ mas cards needs strong support every year. Season after season sees the market still flooded with materialistic Christmas cards. The stores handle religious greetings, but while some are in good taste, some also are very garish. In time, as the demand increases, there will be better religious cards. Christmas of 1957 should see a vast increase in places where the Christ Child is honored. The car rying out of any plans must he done by men and women who are motivated by the thought that no sacrifice of time and effort is too great to further the cause of the Christ Child. Slowly the dream of Christmas as a day when the entire nation pays tribute to the Christ Child, comes true. And, as the outward signs of homage are paid to the Babe of Bethlehem, the greatest part of the work is the change it brings about in the hearts of everyone who engages in it. Peo ple become more tolerant, kind, unselfish, and truly charitable. The love of the Infant Jesus reaches out and takes possession of their hearts. Peace of mind and soul comes to them and with it, the good-will without which men cannot live among men . . . and still survive. The magic of Christmas is in the air...and we sincerely hope that its spirit brightens your whole Holiday Season. “Each year we toss in a sug gestion that you should use a bit of imagination in the preparation of meatless meals. Kinnett Dairies To Aid Jesuit General Named Executive Secretary to Father John Baptist Janssens, Superior General of the Jesuits, is Chicago-born Father James W. Naughton, S.J. Announce ment of the appointment was made following the general congregation of the Society in Rome. Since Father Janssens took office ten years ago, more than 6,000 new members have swelled the number of Jesuits to more than 34,000.
