DECEMBER 21, 1957. THE BULLETIN OF THE CATHOLIC LAYMEN’S ASSOCIATION OF GEORGIA NINE CHRISTMAS MESSAGE Dear Friends, This Christinas, greeting to you hrings sentiments of joy and gratitude for the special bonds of friendship we share through the N. C. C. W. From the smallest Mission Sanctuary to the larger churches in the cities, we shall meet to celebrate the Birth of Our Infant King at the very same Mass and Sacred Banquet, with the same song in our hearts, “Venite adore- mus Dominum.” As we receive Holy Commun ion together, may we whisper an extra prayer for each other, that as we work together and pray together for His Glory on earth, we may one day praise Him to gether in Heaven. When we gath er at the Crib with our loved ones, may we resolve to grow in grace and goodwill, that we may understand more fully the mes sage of the Angels: “Glory to God in the highest and on earth, PEACE to men of GOOD WILL!” To each of you, from all of your friends in the Council, a very happy Christmas and a New Year filled with Christian joy! Sincerely in Our Infant King and His Holy Mother, MARY CHAPPELL (Mrs. L. N. Chappell, Jr.) President, Atlanta Diocesan Council of Catholic Women. It would be a mistake, so many of our nuclear experts tell us, to assume that because we could retaliate, the Russians will not start a nuclear war. Nikita Khru shchev himself has pointed out that nuclear weapons could wreak far greater damage upon the United States, with its heavy concentration of population in cities, than upon Russia whose industrial centers are widely dis tributed and whose population lives largely in small towns or in the country. Khrushchev may decide nu clear war would be a safe risk for Russia. Should he start one, our capacity to retaliate would mean little if we have no way of assuring the protection of our people from blast and radioactive fall-out. Atlanta Services For August J.
