. To The Beloved Of The Lord, And Friends Os Cause Os Christ. We the Primitive Baptists of gavannah, Ga.', having been eiu.- bted by the grace of God to become organized and Constituted into a cmirch of Christ, being yet with otft a place of • worship, are desir ous of building' a house, herein the dear family of God may meet together in obedience to His holy Law and render praise and thank;. to the Giver of every good, and perfect gift ; and being of lim ited means, we ourselves, are un-, able to do this work alone, Kenc. we 'male this' appeal to you for help’. We are constituted in rented hall/ and continue to holo our service there, but you all ma.v know that this seems a disbond to the .Father, and is not at al’ convenient* or desireable to ns. We believe that the good Shep herd is tenderly gathering His lit tle iambs into cur fold, and we have faith to believe that tbie Vine, though now small, will in crease until the Old Baptist, wi l have a strong fort in this pity which will cause the daughters o the earth to rise up and call Her (The Church) blessed. Breth ren and friends, if we didnet sin cerely oelieve that the Lord is wit ' ns we would not trouble you with this appeal, neither would we call upon you for aid Were we able to erect the house alone. We would not have you think that we wish to ask your aid in building a tem ple of fancy and expensive style; what we want is a neat, comfort able structure m a decent and re spectable portion of the city. Will not the masters of Israel— the Preachers, Deacons and Mem bers stop for a moment and con sider this matter? Should you desire any further information about us, please ad dress Elders J. L. In addition to the financial aid we ask, we also feel the need of your prayers. Now may your heart and hands be directed by the Kiiig of kings, is our prayer for Jesus-sake Amun. W. 8. Very dear brother. I have desired to wiite to you for some time, but owing to my feeling of weakness and inability to do so have not. I realize full}' and more forcibly every dhy the words of the Savior when he said “Without me ye ca:. do nothing.” Ohow dependant poor weak humanity rs upon this or.i souroo of help. He is our strength and present help in time of need. He will never leave nor forsake those who trust in him, but will be with them unto the end. His presence dispels our gloom and doubts and we are made to look up and beyond this vale of tears, and our hearts are filled with joy unspeakable and full of glory. Even though on beds of affliction we can praise the Giver of all good and rejoice in His redeeming love and sustaining grace. My dea aunt said the other day, when her poor body was raged by pain which seemed beyond mortal endurance. “The Lord has sustained and strengthened me thus far for I nev er could have suffered as I have' without his help and I believe h< will give me strength to bear what' he has put upon me.” I feel that he did for the last faint whisper distinguished that come from her lips was in prayer. I felt this'eve ning as I stood looking at her cold lifeless form that blessed are the dead who die in the Lord. They cat from their labors; their life xoi’k is o’er, and now they, are tasking in the smiles a dear Re icemer. (A sleep in Jesus; blessed sieep, From which none ever make to weep A sleep in Jesus! O how sweet to be for sucn a slumber meet.) Alease pardon me for not com plying with your request in writm? for the Banner. Its columns have been filled with so much better mat erial, and I had nothing to tell. I will try soon the Lord being my helper to write some. If it if not asking too much we would be glad to hear f .in you for your soul cheering letters are al ways enjoyed. Please excuse this long, scattering litter. Sept, 10th, 1895 Eider Simms:—Dear Friend. I will vend you a short notice of the death of my dear little neice, my little neice, ‘ 11a Williams was born December 27. 1889. departed this life Aug, 7th 95. Age seAen years four months and twen? ty days. She had suffered with Typhoid fever, when God saw fit to relieve her 'rom her pain and take her to a more glorious home than this. We should not mourn, but be reconciled to the will of God, He doth all things well. She leaves a gi ief-stricken father and mother, two brothers and one bister and also a host of relatives to mourn her loss. Indeed it is sad to ■think We can never see her sweet face jagain, but there will be a glorions ’ meeting in the sweet bye and bye, when we meet the loved ones gone be fore us, and shall know as we are snewn. May the Lord btess find comfort those left behinds and give all grace sufficient to besr their troubles, is the desire of her loving Aunt, Susan Williams. We Want jour * Printing!
