Ab proving the resurrection.
About one thousand years from
the creation of the world, Enoch
was translated or taken from uar'h
to heaven in body. If his body
was the dwelling place of his sou l
while on earth, his body is still
the dwelling place of his soul m
heaven to-day. About three thou
sand years from the creation of
the world, and abouttwo thousand
from the translation of Enoch,
and about one thousand before
tJhrist, Elijah was translated to
heaven in body, just as Enoch was
Then about four thousand years
from the creation of the world —
some Chronolgoist says more, and
some less —Jesus went from earth
to heaven in body. As thus offer
ing and proving to these different
periods of time, the resurrection
from the dead in body, sou], and
spirit. Also this»proves that the
soul of saints shall dwell in their
body m heaven. At the second
coming of Jesus, no doubt but
thousands of saints will “remain”
or be found living, and will be
taken to heaven without dying,
but as changed in the twinklibg
of an eye, and will be taken just as
Enoch and Elijah were with their
soul still inhabiting their body,
and tjius continue to all eter
nity. I believe it to be a glorious
truth that the bodies of saints now
sleeping in the dust while their
soule are in paradise, will in* the
resurrection again unite, yet
/us fashioned like those of Enoch’s
and Elijah’s and like the glorious
body of Jesus Christ, made ipa
i mortal, mcorruptable, spiritual,
and devine.
No doubt but th'e spotless hu
man soul of Jesus that left his
body on the cross, <went to para
dise, yet returned and entered and
animated and made glorious, im
mortal and spiritual his body at
or m the resurrection or asscension, ,
and to day inhabits the same as
he sits on the throne of glory. And
so with all his, at the ream lectio
and aaaaansion. If their body

ship. But if unworthy feelings
and felt sense of unfitness, togetb
with a sinful nature, is a bar to
fellowship, lam, alas! left out.
But, thanks be to God I it is not.
No, children of God, Satan wiU
tell you you are not fit for the
church; —that you will be a stum
bling-block,—’that you are deceiv
ed and will decive others Now, if
you have such feelings and fears
as these, you may know satan
-that wicked emissary of evil and
enemy to the children of God, —is
the author of all such. May God
help you me to command him
behind us, and go forward in dis
charge of every Christian duty
thereby honoring God, and receiv
ing to ourselves the the blessing
that a loving, faithful, just and
holy God has prepared for those
found in the pathway of obedi
ence.
Our God is righteous, just and
good, of long forbearance and
plentious in tendei mercy, locking
with loving compassion on all
our infirmities, as loving us with
an everlasting unchangable love
“that passeth knowledge;”
and so draws us by his loving
kindness and brings us into
his “banqueting house and his
baner over us is love.
Then why not serve him? —why
not trust him as holding fast to
tnat “confidence that hath great
recompose of reward”?
Sometimes some one of God’s
chijfireji tells me they love the
church and have a desire to have a
home there, but that some broth
er or sister there had said or done
something wrong,.and they could
not afford tp Ijye ip the church
with them, y A poor faulty excuse
this; I would ask them who are
you living with outside in the
world? Without are dogs, sorcer
bore mongers, murderers i&al
