INSPIRATION

Recently, I was in conversation with
Mrs. Eleanor Fortson... we were shar
ing how good God is and how he is
working in our lives.
Eleanor shared a car situation...
where as she carried her old car to be
serviced and instead purchased a new
one. God placed a concerned
mechanic in her life at the right time before investing in repairs
that may have lasted for short while. I am sure we all have
been in a similar situation, but didn’t really listen to the
message being delivered, so we spent then and are probably
still spending.
Do we ever take the time to let God just be in control of
our lives... from the simplest to the most difficult, or do we
find ourselves trying to handle situations and when we finally
let loose and give it to God is when we just can’t go any further.
Inside I am sure she committed herself to a dream of the
possibility of a new car. We affirm we’re created in the image
of God, that we have latent abilities, that we deserve to suc
ceed as much as anybody else, and after we begin to believe
that somehow, someway, somewhere, sometime, through so
meone, we can make it. When we are inspired with a dream,
God has hit the ball into our court. Now we have to hit it back
with a commmitment. Most of us fail here... “Being Com
mitted,” because with every commitment comes the risk of
failure. Nothing devastates or holds us back more than the
fear of failure. (In this type of situation I am reminded of this
scripture found in Romans 8:32 - He who did not spare his
own son, but gave him up for us all - how will he not also,
along with him graciously give us all things? I firmly believe
in asking God for all things... there are no hinderous in my
life in having a relationship with God.
