The readers of this paper will be
pleased to learn that there is at least
one dreaded disease that science has
been able to cure in all its stages, and
that is Catarrh. Hall’s Catarrh Cure
is the only positive cure now known to
the medical fraternity. Catarrh being
a constitutional disease, requires a con¬
stitutional treatment. Hall’s Catarrh
Cure is taken internally, acting directly
upon the blood and mucous surfaces of
the system, thereby destroying the
foundation of the disease, and giving
the patient strength by building up the
constitution and assisting nature in do¬
ing its work. The proprietors have so
much faith in its cirative powers that
they offer One Hundred Dollars for
any case that it fails to cure. Send

ELLIJAY GEORGIA, THURSDAY FEB. ‘26. 1914-
THE.LAND BEYOND THE GATE.
We seek to look behind the Veil,
L We peer nto the tomb;
| We wonder if the passing Souls
Dwell there in joy or gloom—
IN No answering pressure comes to us
L nd From Mystery the cold hides and beyond lifeless the hand, Gate
Of the Undiscovered Land. I
Death comes not like a Monster
Of grisly, hideous mein,
Nor like an Angel glorious
, With wings of silvery sheen,
But to the Soul devoid of fear
He comes with out-stretched hand;
And says: We take a journey
“To the Undiscovered Land.”
And where they go we do not know.
We only wonder Where.
Do they go to the beautiful Land of
Dreams?
Do they remember there?
No message comes from the Silent Ones,
We cannot tell their state.
We only hope their lives are blest,
In the Land Beyond the Gate.

Our Community Has Lost a
Dear Friend
God in his wisdom has seen fit
to take from oar community our
dear friend and neighbor, Mr
Silas Allen. And in doing so it
seems there is a vacancy which
cannot be filled.
We have lost a man that ever
stood ready to as.sist in anything
that was uplifting to our commu¬
nity. Though Silas was not a
member of any church his pock
etbjok was at all imes open to
assist the church n any way that
he could. Andir-Sunday schools
and Public f-chools he was a great
benefactor.
To know this d«. ar boy was to
love him. Hislif> was full of
good deeds. To his neighbors |
and friends he was alwavs kindI
and good and always ready to
administer to the distressed. Not
alone does his lov« J ones weep
at home but this < .tire commu¬
nity feels a bitter pang when it
realizes that Silas is no more.
It is the belief the writer
that Mr. Allens good deeds has
outstripped those his bad ones
in the sight of God and that his
soul has been wafted on through
the Pearly Gates i ito the Holy
City, and some da;» we will strike
hands with this good husband

in that blest home where sad
partings come no more

We might add as a consolation
to those of her bereaved family
