Chesterfield*s New Fall Radio Program Has Manv Famous Stars The popular Andre Kostelanetz dance programs sponsored by Cheiterfleld Cigarettes over the Columbia network will open their Fall season on September 30th with the return of Nino Martini as star of the Wednesday evening broadcasts. Kay Thompson, Ray Heatherion and the Rhythm sing ers will continue to hold the spot light on Fridays, with anew broadcast nig time of 8:30 E. S. Insiders on radio row who have heard the new en semble are lavish in their praises, and some claim that it is the finest singing aggregation Chesterfield has yet put on the air. This program was one of the hits of the summer sea son, twice being honored by na tionally prominent magazines in the form of medal awards as a dance program “refreshingly dif ferent”. No doubt Chesterfield’s new time periods on Friday, which include the later broadcast from New York for the Columbia Sta : tions in the western half of the country, were arranged so that more listeners could enjoy these entertainments. Some are doing steno graphic work fpr the faculty mem bers and others are assisting school teachers in Carrollton. Three stu dents are acting as helpers for Miss Kendricks in the dining hall, and five of the students are assist ing Mrs. Howell in the bookstore. Thirty-four boys compose the Forestry Group this year. Their work is to beautify the campus. The National Youth Administra tion program is aiding many stu dents to attend school this year for whom oollege would otherwise be just a dream —coveted but not realized.
