’39 Frosh Model Pajamas
Carroll Theatre Scene of Debut
In a galaxy of colors, ra
ther partial to stripes, the
timid and wondering fresh
men boys walked into the
“Valley of Death,” —“soph-
omores to the right of them,
sophomores to the left of
them.”
With vari-colored garments and
faces the West Georgia Freshmen
marched to Carrollton and took
over the city for the afternoon.
There was a gala day of speaking
and singing,—all to be met with
the approval and disapproval of the
almighty upper classmen. Tis on
this day that the lowly Rat was
made to realize his real worth in
the college system of things.
The freshmen girls were iniat
ed three days later hut the
parade of pa jammed males stole
the show as they performed in
the traditional West Georgia
style.
The mode of dress this year for
the stylish freshmen was the same
as ever,—Rat caps, red and black
face paint and pajamas of all tints
and designs. There was, for the
brighter freshmen who decides not
to wear a cap, a style both popular
and serviceable. This is the Zebra
or Convict Stripe, which is black
against a flesh background.
Arrayed in such chic haberdash
ery, the younger men delighted in
such games as “Peanut Nose Push”
and “Tramp, Tramp, Tramp, The
Boys Are Marching.” This enter
tainment was followed by these
men introducing themselves at the

a close on the public square. The
watching crowd was filled with en
thusiastic sophomores and their
dates.
The freshmen enjoyed this party
for everyone attended, —and ex
pected to be entertained.
