Undressed Rumors
By
By RKBUKN M. WORD
OBITUARY:
This to announce the funeral
of the HUDSON-HAYNIE romance.
Rites were held a few week ends
ago at Stone Mountain. The funeral
was held from eight to twelve with
the REV. EUGENE COBB officiat
ing. It looks as if that romance
has been COBBed.
Is there another shattered rom
ance between W. C. YARBROUGH
and HELEN HARDEWICK? If not,
why do we see W. C.'with BAR
BARA MAXWELL so often?
A faint glow of embers and a
light wisp of smoke rise slowly
and take the form of the ghost
of an old romance between CARO
LYN CARITHERS and MARVIN
MARTIN. Yes, it’s gone—all this
and the lipstick, too.
All of which reminds me of an
interview which I had last week
with that well-known person—
CUDDLES.
Yes, Cuddles is a blonde. He
knew that and always accepted her
rs one, but was he, of FORTY
EIGHT DAYS so terribly hurt be
cause his Cuddles ditched him
first, instead of waiting to be
ditched? Could he be trying to
get revenge by revealing her to the
public in the West Georgian? How
could a man do such a thing to
the girl to whom he once said.
“Darling, would you marry me?”
Cuddles’ only remark was,
“Throw your 800-kays to the
CONCEITED geo.

you and I must remark that I
quoted you word for word as
the statement was uttered. If my
article sounded a little sarcastic,
I am almost certain it was not
intentional.

FUN:
“GEORGE” was seen climbing
up the fire escape of the girls'
dormitory Sunday night in his
basketball suit. One minute later
he was seen coming out the back
door fully with a suit
case in his hand. “George” must
be a regular quick change artist
like Jack Rank.
It seems that ALTON JENKINS
has taken over where Martin Neth
ery left off with ALICE SWINT.
We wonder what HILDA thinks
of this.
What’s this DORIS BUFFING
TON receives from the U. S. Navy
on the U. S. S. Tuscalusa. Strange
cargo from a sailor.
We wonder what Miss Word
thinks of a party of people who
came in from Tifton at seven o’-
clock Sunday morning. Well, Miss
Ward, it was like this
An open letter to Miss Ward:
We appreciate your patronage of
us by reading our colyum, but we’d
rather you would put more of your
attention on the comic page. After

all, we don’t delve in the more seri
ous things and we think you should
take what we say with a grain of
salt.

The following is a revised ver
sion of the great West Georgia
dramatic saga “She Got It In The
End.”
Their meeting—it was sudden,
Their parting—it was sad,
She gave her young life freely,
’Twas all the life she had.
She’s lying beneath the willows
And sleeping peacefully now,
’Cause that’s what always happens
When a freight train meets a cow!
8 O’Clock Class Wins
Girls Basketball
T ournament
Last Thursday night the finals
in the girls’ intramural basketball
games were played in the gym.
The 8:00 class, led by the sharp
shooting of Helen Hardwick eked
out a 35-33 victory over the 10:45
class. At the end of the half the
score stood 10:45 class 21—8:00
class 7, due to the efforts of Vir
ginia Dunaway who shot most of
the points for the 10:45’5.
In the second half Helen Hard
wick found her distance and began
matching Dunaway’s shots. At the
end of the fourl h quarter the score
was 33-33. Another three minute
quarter was played and Hardwick
shot the deciding point in the
last 40 seconds of play.
The 10:45 class put up a gallant
fight, but due to excessive fouling,
lost their best guards and there
fore lost the game.
Hardwick did the scoring with
21 points. Dunaway got 17. Both
girls played bang-up ball and de
serve credit for their efforts, but
Hardwick was the star of the win
ning team.
