Moonlight and Roses
Theme of Annual Dance
The Annual Final Dance was
given by the Freshmen in honor
of the graduating Sophomores
Saturday night, May 29. Emery
Drinkard’s eight piece orchestra
from LaGrange played for the
dance, which lasted from 9:00
until 12:00.
The college gym was transform
ed into a picturesque scene of a
Moonlight Rose Garden. “Moon
light and Roses” was selected as
the theme of the dance.
The gym looked as lovely or
lovelier than it ever has before.
As you entered by the center
door you passed under a white
arch covered with red roses. Then
you felt you were in a wonder
land garden. In the middle of the
gym was a wishing well well de
corated with the bright colored
roses and at each end there was
lawn furniture to give the gar
den effect. The theme of roses
was also carried out on the cur
(tains and on the little white
picket fence which extended
ecross the stage. There was also
another feature of garden em
phasized by the bird-bath which
was placed on the stage. A moon
was hung at the left side of the
stage and added the needed touch
to the romantic setting of “Moon
light and Roses.”
The receiving line was made up
of Dr. and Mrs. I. S. Ingram, Dr.
and Mrs. W. H. Row, Mr. and
