"Bravettes" Win Second Victory
The West Georgia Bravettes
defeated this season for the se
cond time a powerful six repre
senting LaGrange College. The
game was played on January 12,
1956, with a final score of 60 to
48.
West Georgia jumped to an
early lead in the first quarter, 20
to 10. Elaine Shell led the first
quarter attack with eight points.
Elaine had a total for the night
of 18 points, which was second
high for West Georgia. The sec
ond quarer showed the fans
plenty of excitement. The sharp
shooting forward from LaGrange,
Greer, went to work on the nets.
She tossed in 16 points the sec
ond quarter, which was half the
total she had for the night. Greer
had 32 ponts to take the scoring
honors for the night.
West Georgia started to work
after the half. With a 36 to 30
halftime score they rolled up 16
paints in the third quarter to
seven for LaGrange. This gave
West Georgia a comfortable lead
of 16 points, 52 to 37. In this
quarter Jackie Miller shook the
nets for 12 points. Jackie was
high scorer for West Georgia
with 22 points. Linda Butler
and Emily Watson played well
this quarter as well as the other

LaGrange girls didn’t let up.
They outscored West Georgia
twelve to eight. Evelyn Bryant
got six points for the locals in the
final quarter. Judy Pharr and
