Literary Magazine Plans
First Year’s Publication
By HARRY KNIGHT
The Eclectic, West Georgia’s literary magazine will make its debut in January.
Under the sponsorship of Mr. Gus Napier, the magazine, which has been in the
planning stages for one year, will be realized in the near future.
The Eclectic will feature
poems, short stories, essays,
sketches, and reviews. Original
ly planned for publication during
the fall quarter, the magazine
was delayed due to printing
difficulties.
The idea for a literary maga
zine was conceived last year but
sufficient interest was not gen
erated at that time. This year,
thanks to the efforts of the mag
azine’s leadership, suffecient in
terest has been displayed to
warrant publication. Funds have
been appropriated for printing
costs and a fair amount of ma
terial has been submitted to the
editors.
Judith Hines, a sophomore
from Sargent. Georgia, has been
appointed to the position of Edi
tor-in-chief. Associate editors for
the publication are Harry Knight,
Robert Strickland, Charlotte
Griffin and John Harden.
Miss Hines announced that
there would be two editions of
the magazine each year. Literary
selections will be chosen from
those submitted by students and
faculty members at West Geor
gia. The goal of the staff is to
