‘Revolution’ Planned for WGC
By JOHN MANN
A Revolution is being planned
for West Georgia College.
It all begins with the completion
of a New Education classroom
building. The classrqom build
ing will contain fantastic, futuris
tic educational materials to be
used in the training of tomor
row’s teachers. But even more
revolutionary will be the ap
proach used by the West Georgia
faculty in teaching in the new
building.
The Education building, to be
completed by September, 1970,
will be filled with ultra-modern
glass walled offices of the facul
ty. In fact, faculty offices will
have no doors in order to pro
mote teacher-student communi
cations.
Dr. Thomas W. Sills, head of the
Education Dept., said that the in
novations in teaching will gen
erate “faculty commitment” and
“student involvement.” The new
program will consist more of in
dependent and small group stud
ies using the large library of
films and tapes.
In addition to the abundance of
machines and materials, the new
building will be characterized by
a sense of openess, in soaring
