Ceramics Creativity with Clay
By JO LOVVORN
Staff Writer
How would you like to create
your own pottery? It’s easy
just ask any of the students
currently enrolled in a ceramics
class sponsored by the continuing
education department!
The course, taught by Mr.
Vaughn Stewart, instructor in
art, is especially designed for
beginners and provides an op
portunity for students to develop
their creative potential.
Each student is introduced to
the fundamental techniques of
making pottery and participates
in the actual creative process,
according to the class members.
Supervised instruction in reading
is also available, and as each
participant’s creativity develops,
he is encouraged to “do his own
thing.”
“One watches his projects
come alive as he progresses
through the molding, firing, and
glazing stages,” a student said.
