Local Church Holds
Inquirer's Classes
St. Margaret’s Episcopal
Church will begin its fall-winter
series of Adult Inquirers’
Classes, “Crises in Faith,” in the
Church Parish Hall at 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Oct. 3.
The course is one of “two major
learning experiences” to be of
fered by St. Margaret’s this fall,
according to the Rev. Gene
Britton, Rector.
“Crises in Faith” is a 12-week
series of classes, meeting once
each week, designed to give
participants an “in-depth and
experience-based exposure” to
the Christian Gospel, Father
Britton said. The classes are open
to anyone 18-years-old and older,
and WGC students and faculty
are especially welcome, he ad
ded. The course will provide the
necessary instruction for persons
who wish to be Confirmed in the
Episcopal Church, but they are

Speaking of Miss America, a
book reviewer in THE
SATURDAY REVIEW recently
noted that at the pageant,
“Judges are encouraged to
mingle with the girls and ask
them any sort of question to see,
as they saw, how they ‘field it.’
p'or instance, they asked one girl
if a Secret Service man told her
the President of the United States
would like her to give her body to
a foreign agent to find out in
formation for national security,
would she do it? The girl that
scored the highest on that
question said: ‘l’m a very

anything my President asked

but who do not wish to be Con

Series Set
On Aging
The second meeting in a six
part study series on Adult
Development and Aging met
Thursday, Sept. 30, at West
Georgia College. Older adults,
community leaders and prac
titioners in the field of aging
participated.
“This course offers a very
important opportunity to study
and plan programs and ways in
which to implement them in the
best interest of older citizens. It is
our desire to more effectively
meet the needs of older citizens,”
said Collus 0. Johnson, program
coordinator and director of
continuing education.
Topics to be considered during
the series include the influence of
aging on thinking, feeling and
relationships, effects of aging,
and basic needs after retirement.
The class will meet each
Thursday from 7 to 10 p.m. in the
Education Building. Professors
from the departments of
sociology, biolcgy, psychology,
economics, political science and
continuing education will con
sider the concepts and theories of
aging as they pertain to their
respective fields.
